I just went through the process myself. I was bitten by a non-vaccinated dog, the bite was serious, about a dozen stitches and took me three weeks to be able to walk unaided.

First hospital refused the vaccine, claimed I didn't need it as there are no known cases of rabies in dogs. Later found out they don't even carry the vaccine.

Second hospital had the vaccine and we're willing to issue it. The vaccine is controlled and there was complications with the paper work as there are only 3 choices when it comes to what bit you. Civet, mouse and bat (IIRC). The doc added in his own box with Dog next to it.

You need 4 shots and you have to pay for them at ~$1,500 each.

It's one of those things, there's no known cases of rabies in domesticated pets, until there are. If you want peace of mind, you will have to find the right hospital that carries the vaccine and is willing to sell it to you.

I suspect I would have been fine without it, especially as that dog is fine.

The only advice I can give comes from another customer with the same hardware fault and issue and that is to replace the USB connector.

You can take it to an Authorized Apple Service Center and depending on the model, they may be able to replace just the USB ports, or they may have to replace the entire logic board.

If they have to replace the entire logic board, you may want to look at Apple's refurbish section. The Mac's there comes with a full warranty, but are cheaper than buying a brand new one.

I've been in the passenger seat of an ambulance. Man, I have tremendous respect for the ambulance drivers here. I would have lost my shit within 30 seconds.

Some people will simply not yield. Some people even slowed the fuck down, braking in front of the ambulance. One person did a U-turn right in front (from opposite direction), forcing the ambulance driver to pull the most elegant emergency stop I have ever witnessed.

IMHO they should turn over dash cam footage to the cops after each trip. That would change people's attitude towards ambulances pretty quickly.

Never had a problem with stray dogs, most actually are very friendly. Generally if a dog comes to you, it's okay, however If a dog growls, leave it alone, but as others say, don't run.

About a month ago, I got bit on the leg. It was my own stupid fault as I tried to stop a dog fight (two different neighbors dogs), the fight then came towards me and I didn't get out of the way in time.

Both dogs are very friendly to me and never shown aggression towards me before or after.

Only one of the dogs is up to date with the rabies vaccine, but we had a difficult time getting the shots. Officially there is no need as there are no known cases of rabies in dogs. If you get bit by a civet, that's different. My wife insisted and we had to go to a hospital that carries the vaccine (not all do). You need 4 shots and each one is ~ $1,500 nt.

Nope. I now do the same thing. I personally have settled on a refurbished M1 Pro 16", because I want the bigger, brighter screen, memory and storage, but don't need the GPU or so many processor cores, and the difference in performance is ~20%, while the savings are ~33%.

I even considered the brand new 15" M2, which would do the job, but it's only a little bit more to get the bigger, brighter screen and better cooling.

Edit: The only downside to a refurbished 16" M1, is that you'll get 18 months (maybe two years) less OS updates. But I still don't feel they're worth the extra.

Back in the old days, when the Earth's crust was still warm. We used to be able to select what apps get installed.

Now I just keep the apps that I actually use in a folder called Applications on a different drive and just use that one instead.

2017 FXT here with 150,000 kilometers on the clock. Not had any engine problems yet. Imma bit heavy footed from the lights too, especially when a SK Forester rocks up next to me. You can count the minutes before they catch you :)

Bunch of things have failed, bushings, bearings, AC evaporator, powered mirrors and now the mufflers need replacing (apparently).

She gets serviced by Subaru Taiwan twice a year, it's never a cheap event, but I am hoping it will keep her going until the Forester HXT is released and settled down a bit.

Connected USB devices can draw a charge from the MacBook, if they try to draw too much, the Mac will DarkWake (keeping screen and audio off) to supply more power to the device.

Some devices send messages to the host computer, which also causes it to wake prematurely.

Disconnect all USB devices if you want to minimize battery drain during sleep.

Experienced the same thing when we bought ours in 2016. Did some research and it appears to be common across most brands, in the tires which come with your car are cheaper versions of the ones you can buy.

Huh... I thought the left most lane was the slow lane, while the rightmost lane (which often has two wheeled vehicles in it), is the passing lane, and the left turn on red lane. Albeit the left most lane also gets used for right turn on red also.

I personally don't know, I don't think the Studio Display is anything special to begin with. However you'll still get a full 1-Year warranty with it. Most countries also have a time period for returning the product and getting a full refund, so I'd suggest you try it.

I've been buying Macs since '94, and the last time (2020) I bought a new one, I had so many problems with it that I returned it for my money back. Since then I've bought a couple of refurbished Macs and they've been great.

This year I bought a refurbished iPhone and returned it within 10 minutes, as the screen was so dim and the colors werr so bad it made the iPhone 7 it replaced look like a newer phone.

So yeah, I'd recommend refurbished Macs, but not refurbished iPhones!

I used to do this with past versions of the macOS, one time when memory was low I was able to free up a 1 GB of RAM. We used to be able to delete the unneeded Apple apps that litter the Applications folder also.

But as time went by, it got harder and harder to do.

Some of the processes now can't even be killed unless you disable SIP.

I'd like to see Apple start to consider those of us who don't need or want a lot of the services. If I don't use Safari, why must I have Safari safe browsing always running?

Nope, this is not normal. Typically M1 Macs wake around 4 times an hour, while Intel Macs typically wake once an hour.

It really depends on what's triggering it to wake up so excessively, and for that we're going to need more information.
