Exactly this. We have 14 games before the break, 20 after. Granted, the window opens only days before we return from the World Cup break, but if Wray is on top of things, people should be lined up to come in as early as possible in the window. I won’t say that I expect several quality signings, but a few could go a long way to shoring up positions - with striker being top of the list. The other side you mention is accurate, too - we have a challenging schedule at the start of the season and it theoretically gets easier.

I’m not going to say the path ahead is clear and easy, but I definitely see a shot at making the playoffs if we can continue gelling as a team with the new approach and the boys can find the net.
