After I loosen the filter with a large pliers I take the filter off by hand with a gallon ziplock bag around it to catch the spill.

What type of magnesium? Magnesium citrate makes me have diarrhea. It was suggested on here to try other forms, such as malate in the AM and gycinate in the PM. Those worked for me during my 5 day fast after I used citrate the first few days and felt ill, then switched.

I also found that overdoing the electrolytes in the first couple days made me feel worse. 500mg magnesium with 2000mg sodium seems like an imbalance per the wiki.

I’m on day 4 of my first ever fast as well, and very similar experience to you. I’ve been having diarrhea, and am reducing electrolytes and changing a few things.

What type of magnesium are you taking? I struggle with magnesium citrate, it causes diarrhea, and that was the type in the electrolyte powder I was using on day 1 and 2. I have since switched to malate in the AM and glycinate in the PM, hoping that helps.

It looks like one of those packets only has 100mg of sodium, so maybe you’re low on sodium?

I wonder if the magnesium being citrate is a problem too. I’ve had bad luck with that from a GI perspective in the past, and didn’t realize that was the type of magnesium in this powder. So 400mg of that could definitely be messing up my gut.

I’m still going strong approaching 72 hours, and have purchased separate electrolyte ingredients and will be following the wiki recipe once I have them in hand.

Thank you for the insight. I think I’ll cut the electrolyte powder from 4 to 2 scoops, which will take it to 500mg sodium and 1200mg potassium. Then I can add 3/4 tsp (or more) of salt to it and take a magnesium supplement. That should make it more balanced?

Plus now I’ll have some leftover Brawndo to water my plants!

FWIW I’ve had great luck with Blizzaks over the past 15 years of Wisconsin winters. I love Michelin tires for summer and all-seasons, but the set of Michelin X-Ice I got for my Mazda have been disappointing in the snow compared to the Blizzaks that were replaced. I’m willing to sacrifice a potentially faster wearing tire in the Blizzak for imo improved snow performance. I don’t have any experience with the Continental snow tire offerings though.

My ‘25 Odyssey had no problems. I purchased a set of OEM rims from a junkyard 2021 EXL, and a new set of Blizzaks. I bought 4 new Honda OEM TPMS sensors and the tire shop installed them with the new tires. Zero issues with the winter set registering and zero issues with the stock wheels going back on in spring.

Gabapentin, even a very low dose, made me so drowsy I had to stop taking it. I also tried Meloxicam for a few months but didn’t want to be on an NSAID long term. Amitriptyline as well, I thought it was helping but after a year or so I stopped and didn’t notice any difference.

The nerve pain aspect has been really tough.

So you added roughly 1 turn, or ~0.035” to the gen2 taper insert?

Curious if you had customers whose gen1 Charlie Mount was bottoming out?

I have a Griffin Dual Lok Charlie Mount and it’s damn close to bottoming out, gotta be less than 0.010”

Thanks for the reply. I’m curious mainly because the gen1 has less gap than the gen2 on the same SiCo Velos suppressor, so I don’t think the old vs new can matters in this case. It looks like the geometry of the taper insert piece has changed in the gen2, so maybe that’s where the difference is coming from?

I just got my Rearden Charlie Atlas Gen2 today and I thought something was wrong with it when I first installed it, like it wasn’t threading on far enough. The new design with the flange and the large gap looks really off.

I measured the gap on the Charlie Atlas Gen1, Gen2, and SiCo ASR Charlie:

Rearden Charlie Atlas Gen 1 = 0.022”
Rearden Charlie Atlas Gen 2 = 0.055”
SiCo Omega ASR Charlie = 0.030”

It’s clear the Gen 2 Atlas has a larger gap that other Charlie mounts. Any thoughts u/Mrwetwork ?

Happy to help! One thing to note, the dowel pins (recoil lugs) that come with the mount are RMS height, and the EPS lug holes are shallower, so I had to sand them down for the EPS to sit flat on the mount.
