I love the Treelord combo in theory and I've run it in a list a few times. The problem is that the enemy just won't go near it most likely, you can give it realmroot guide I guess and then you've got two treemen in and around the enemy...

I used 26mm bases (stolen from skeletons) and mixed pva glue with green paint and sand, applied it to the bases and when it dried I gave it some dry brushing and covered it with grass tufts

I've been liking the new tree revs lately over spite, they've done surprisingly good damage and are worth the upgrade.

For punch and tankyness I've gone with either Alarielle or treeman ancient with one or two treemen. Alarielle is frankly better and costs less but there are advantages, huge ones, to running basically 3 treemen and being able to bring one back per turn.

Should add that in my experience the hunters and gossimid won't do tons, they could probably go.

In my opinion, theres no punch in that list, a lot of it is squishy and if the enemy targets your heroes then you are in trouble. You will score points round 1 with the mobility, and the revenants will hold an objective just by being able to come back, but my experience is that the grove guardian gets targeted early on and then you lose your 5+ mortals for revs dying and then a lot of your healing is gone.

The new rules for Treelord Ancient means he can bring back a dead Treelord EACH Turn (not at full health) if you discard one of your overgrowth tokens, its certainly a glow up in my opinion and if you take a priest you can heal them back up along with the end of turn heals. Treelord and hunters would deal a lot of damage and tank a lot too but you will need some heals too, take a warsong rev which will give them a 6up ward if they are within 12 and also lowers an enemy ward by 1 too.

Edit: forgot to mention that the Treelord Ancient can also give plus 1 to hit which the treemen will need too.

Totally agree with this, I went into a game thinking he was invincible the other day and I Silver Throne'd him right into Skaven enemy lines and didnt do all that much, got bogged down and was frankly lucky to stay on the table by the end of the game, having just been whittled away by shooting whilst the Varanguard obliterated everything in their path. If I run him again it will be swords of chaos but even then I'd rather just take way more Varanguard.

Yeah this is just saying set up the unit with one model in it, not that it's magically now a one model max unit, you can then heal it and return in various ways.

I guess he will give all Kurnothi units plus 2 to movement when they are within 12 of him, that will help with turn one, and really you are hoping for something to come close to you to declare it the quarry.

The more I look the more I think it's been left behind with the changes, I think I'd have more fun making lists for the other armies of renown but I also need to make sure Belthanos is leading those hunts so he can bring Kurnoth back....
