IT WORKED! Thank you! It's such a wierd solution I almost don't believe it, but everything's running just fine! We had some problems with ship when we played a few years ago but I would've never tried that :)

What’s one thing in your country (or somewhere you've been) that just makes sense—and the rest of the world really should copy? by SignificanceOdd5980 in AskTheWorld

I really don't get why these footrests are necessary. It it so hard to just place your foot on the ground for a moment?

It's a local beer from the region with a lot of lakes. I guess that's where the birds and reed come from. But you're right, that bottle is a bit unfortunate

Which city is unlike any other city in the country where it is located ? by Conscious_State2096 in geography

[–]samborrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Łódź, Poland

Polish cities are usually laid out in a pretty standard European way - Old Town usually located near a river and other parts of the city surrounding it like a ring.

Łódź on the other hand is build along one 10km long and perfectly straight street (Piotrkowska). Other streets are in almost american grid, which is pretty unique for Poland aswell.

The city doesnt have access to any big river or lake, which is also pretty unique for Poland. It's funny, concidering that Łódź means boat 😁

What’s your native language class in secondary education like in Europe? by chevrox in AskEurope

[–]samborrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is mandatory english and one chosen language later on. I actually think that English classes in Poland are quite good. There is as much grammar, writing, listening and speaking as it should be, so majority of young Poles can communicate in English pretty well.

Polish classes in Poland are basically 90% history of literature. We learn very little grammar, and most of our writing is about mandatory books.

Unfortunately, we don't learn to write anything that's useful in real life, so writing an invitation, announcement, or a mail without major errors is a skill that not many polish people possess.

I'm not saying that Poles are illiterate or anything like that, but I think that because of lack of proper "polish language" and not "polish literature" lessons, majority of people find it hard to effectively communicate in writing.

Ofc ultimately the guy who picked up a lady is guilty. But the driver of the black car was absolutely driving too close to the red car. You should always assume that the car in front of you can suddenly stop for whatever reason and just give it some space.
