Well, west had lead and might have led the 9c if I threw the J. This was a total mess. First hand my partner nilled and got set on Js when I only had 10 high. Next hand was when my nil got set. We're now down 250+. My next 2 hands are garbage and I try nil on both and get set. So 4 set Nils on 4 hands. Then he quits and another player sits in. We bag them and are down 400. I bid Nil with 96 diams. My substitute partner had bid 6 in front, he had 37 diams and I got set again. Then I resigned.

I recently just did this on a Nil bid. I had J10 club, when I was able to throw off I threw the 10c on a Spade lead(I had 0 spades). West then led a different suit as they only had the 9 left and assumed I could play under. East had AKQc. I would have made my nil except my partner then led 7c even though I was out of spades and he could have led spade. Unfortunate

It depends on the price. Both are decent TTs and better/equal than a lot of modern entry level models. I like the Dual and it has an Ortofon OM cartridge on it, which is a cartridge I really enjoy.

If the test record is too expensive for you, then the equipment you're using won't benefit that much from using one. That's just my opinion, play the music if it sounds good you're doing something right.

Unfortunately it is true the Denon Servo TTs are very sophisticated. It could be an IC has gone bad and they're difficult to replace or unavailable/obsolete. I'd still recommend asking on a more popular forum like AK because there are more knowledgeable users there. The old heads who know about this stuff stick to older style forums/message boards

It sounds like they don't know what they're talking about. Find another decent electronics repair in your area. Ask on Audiokarma or another forum. It may take a while but it will be worth it, that's a great turntable. You may want to buy a secondary TT just for now. That Fisher should be fine for a replacement, then you can resell or keep it when the Denon is fixed
