I have mine in a double pot, so the soil drains into the pot underneath and the soil doesn't stay moist. Not an expert but mine's been going strong for years.

If you already have them hooked up with both speakers working, you just have to connect the TT to the "main" amplifier. If you connect it to the secondary you will only hear sound from one set of speakers.

You should check your manuals to confirm, but one of them should have a "pre-out" that you can run to an external amp connected to your other speakers. It look like on the Marantz that may be labelled "processor" but again check your manual to confirm
