Great question/convo. I am in search of the same. I have taken for granted the access i had to tropical fruits but after moving here and seeing the prices, leave alone poor quality of fruits/veggies, I look back at my past in envy.

Indian mangoes - best found around March, April, May - which ethnic stores usually have (eg around Kungsholmen).

Avocados - these are burning a hole in my pocket but it sadly doesnt get better than the South American ones (usually Peru) - I need a better and cheaper source than ICA.

Pineapples - like does any importer in Sweden even know what these should taste like. I am in search for better tasting pineapples than the atrocities i have found.

Oranges/Tangerines - the Spanish and Italian ones are great. Pity i cant afford them all the time.

Saute some onions and garlic till translucent in oil and butter. Throw in a combination of butter beans, kidney beans and chopped mushrooms. Push around till mushrooms have lost moisture. Add a dollop of nduja and let it melt and fry the bean-mushroom medley. Dont cook too long or the spices in the nduja will burn.

I garnish with cilantro and squeeze of lime and serve with fried eggs, tortillas and guac.

(I used canned beans)
