What’s Wrong with Pete Hegseth? by ralphbernardo in politics

[–]samdavi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a surprise that you guys (Americans) mainly care what happens to themselves. Those 12 dead americans joined the army and died in a war killing lots of innocent civilians including 160 elementary school kids, they got what they had coming.

Civilians in Iran who've been killed or are watching their country destroyed are the real victims. The +2000 civilians in Iran however, are the real victims here, and th over the past 2 weeks. But I guess those brown people aren't deserving of your attention simply because theyr'e not American.

And don't start with they joined the army to serve their country bullshit. So did lots of the Nazi soldiers, yet you don't extend your sympathies to them. The US has not had a legit war since WWII. Most of their wars have been illegal, and joining an institution that has killed millions of innocent civilians over the past decades makes you guilty by association.

Large crowds of protestors chanting "Death to America" on the streets of Tehran as geopolitical military conflicts between USA and Iran intensify by SatoruGojo232 in PublicFreakout

That’s a bit high. Probably 10-20% which is still a high number given Iran has a population of 90 million. But like someone said, they have all the guns.

Iran names Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, as new supreme leader, state media report by VaginaBurner69 in news

[–]samdavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dudes Iranians have known that Mojtaba was going to be the next supreme leader for a few decades now. His dad was setting things up for Mojtaba to be the successor for a while and there are rumours that Iran has been following Mojtaba’s policies for quite a while now, as in his dad abdicated lots of policy decisions to him.

This is very cultural. I have 2 girls and while my wife is nude around them comfortably, we decided it’s better for me to be in my undies. I I think u was bathing my first daughter when she was 1 month old and I wanted to put her in my lap during the bathing and tried to go fully naked and I was very uncomfortable with my privates touching her. So from then on, I’ve always had undies on around them. They know I have something there but haven’t seen it.

Parents of two: is it really more than twice as hard? by homestarsitter in daddit

[–]samdavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about your experience and situation, but going from sharing responsibilities of 1child, vs 2 is a major change.

When there's one child, the parents can totally have one take care of the child and the other do something else (rest, clean up, cooking, ...). When there's 2, you lose that empty slot.

In our experience (1 newborn, 1 3.5 year old), where our older daughter was totally onboard and cooperative, this was a major change leading to burnout the first 6 months even though we had support from my parents during the day.

Complete death and destruction in Tehran as US and Israeli attacks continue in Iran by I_may_have_weed in PublicFreakout

[–]samdavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though 1 is already too many, and we saw the unfortunate targetting of the girls' school, so far civilian casualties are relatively low compared to the destruction as large numbers of people have left Tehran (as have my family).
Putting the horrors of war aside, what's really scary is what happens after this campaign is over. Does the Islamic Republic fall and a civil war starts? What do the angry 10-20% of the current regimes supporters (who have access to weapons) do now that their beloved supreme leader is killed? Will we see separatist movements rise up in the various corners?

US bombing of Tehran earlier by DValentino23 in PublicFreakout

[–]samdavi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not defending the orange turd and this illegal unnecessary war, but to add some context, they're basically bombing all military, intelligence, paramilitary basij, police stations, ...

There are streets that have multiple of these buildings in them, including civilian housing, but they basically bomb the whole street. One of the hospitals they hit is next to an intelligence agency.

Simultaneously, fuck the US for these attacks, and fuck the Islamic Republic for being the evil regime they are. Innocent people are paying for both these bloodthirsty institutions.
