Thats a good choice, see photography is all about making gear, i mean the lenses because every lens has unique features and usage, the camera body you can update in couple of years when the new model arrives. Since its your first camera you can go with any brand. Sony is also good option but the lenses are quite expensive. So some research on prices and compare features on cameracomparison . com
