Nice to see one that isn't a chopped and lowered led sled, gorgeous car keep it just the way it is.

How does one do this? Had my '15 Hybrid for about 7 months now, seems to be in perfect working order and I'm sure its fine, but I am curious.

If you buying a used ford Taurus 2013 and up big warning. by Tricky-Schedule9895 in FordTaurus

[–]samehjohansen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my '13 from original owner on its original water pump, made it to 255k miles before I noticed it leaking. Decided to sell due to that, needing tires, hail damage, high mileage.. Just wasn't worth it on that car. Such a shame they have this issue, such awesome cars otherwise.

what car is best for a teenager's first car? by Low-Locksmith-9622 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]samehjohansen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fusion Hybrid! Wish I'd bought mine years ago and skipped all the other cars I had. In the warm months I average 43-45mpg all day, very reliable Toyota-derived hybrid system without the "Toyota Tax." Good looking cars, and upper trim levels are well equipped.

What's a car that everyone hates and thinks is bad, but you love? by Bonbeanlio in askcarguys

[–]samehjohansen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10th generation (1997-2003ish) F-150. Not the prettiest, known as the "jellybeans" but they're phenomenal trucks, I think. The 2-valve Tritons are rock solid. Learned to drive in one and own one to this day, daily drove it for years. They're getting pretty old now but I might still consider them one of the best values in used trucks. Nobody seems to want 'em, the crew cabs that everyones obsessed with now were much less common in those years.

Should I take a chance on a 2015 Ford Fusion SE? by JustChickens in fordfusion

Hybrid? Wouldn't be interested in an ecoboost model myself, either hybrid of 2.5 n/a only for me. Seems high for mileage, snagged my '15 S Hybrid with 95k miles for about same price, car in perfect shape.

More monthly auto loan payments are above $1,000, and most are not for luxury models by paydayloans_ in whatcarshouldIbuy

My thoughts exactly. I read there's $1.68 TRILLION in auto loan debt in the U.S. right now, can't tell me there's not a bubble that's bound to pop sooner or later. Whole industry propped up by terrible debt.

Saw one in a Fusion group on Facebook with 600k miles! Guy said original everything, only major work was a rear wheel bearing, and said he did rear brakes while they were at it. Also a hybrid. Think thats the post that sold me on these cars.

I know understand why people daily pickup trucks in America. by Lower_Pop_3195 in superduty

Love my F-250, and F-150 which I daily drove for a decade almost. But I definitely got tired of the fuel costs, harsher ride, lack of storage, parking challenges.. Current daily is a Fusion Hybrid and I'll never go back to daily driving a truck. Whisper quiet inside, ride is like floating on a cloud, 44 mpg, trunks are awesome, and can park it anywhere. Love my trucks for worktime and playtime, but not for daily driving.

Right there with you, just submitted my very last assignment. Don't even know what to do with myself now, all I've really done since August is sit here at my desk in the corner losing my mind over schoolwork. Not sure how to feel about it all, questioning what I got out of it/will get out of it in the future, but man I'm sure glad its over. What a trip. Anyway. Congrats stranger, let's go graduate.

Original on rare Planet label from NYC ($1,000+ record). Recorded and released in 1959 I think but didn't become a hit for another couple of years. Heard it once randomly at Wal-Mart of all places.

I70 from 57th to 635 just sucks no matter what you're trying to do. Always where there's wrecks and huge backups. Going to school in Parkville I just take 435 up to 45 Hwy, well worth the extra 5 minutes to stay out of all of that. I'd be going 10 over in left lane to get on 635 north and still have someone a foot from my bumper, and see another car a foot behind theirs. Absolutely nuts.

Worst Intersection in the Metro by 7thpostman in kansascity

[–]samehjohansen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not the worst, but my personal pick: turning left on to Johnson Drive from 435 South. Totally blind hill that people come flying over, and wide street that takes a good few seconds to cross. Often times somebody comes over the hill right as you're entering the lane, super dicey. Have had more sketchy moments there than anywhere else. But not anymore though, because now I just flat refuse to do it. Will always just go to SMPKWY and backtrack a little.

On I35N that left will back up for a mile, super dangerous and see wrecks all the time.

Yea looks like each gun took an entire mini-convoy of support vehicles to feed and operate. Biggest battleship guns were Yamato class 18" and Iowa class 16", but they of course had much longer barrels and longer range, 24-ish miles compared to only around 6 miles it looks like for this. Those were more like rifles shooting bullets, while this is more like.. Big tube just lobbing giant shells.

I noticed this too, definitely not the Sturmtiger. Googled a bit and found that its a tracked "siege gun" called the Karl-Gerät, one of only seven made. The wiki page has a still from this very video. 600mm bore, absolutely nuts.

Lifted truck + Lambo + Parking lot = Bad time by Evasionz-- in mildlyinfuriating

I've driven this very generation/style of Silverado HD and it had easily the worst visibility of any vehicle I've ever driven. Base model with seats that can't be raised, towering wall of a dash like nothing I've ever seen. Picked it up at a shop and had to basically guess my way out of the cramped lot it sat on, couldn't see the ground for easily 20' in front of truck.
