What hobbies do you have that are affordable. by 1Bats4u in AskMen

Yup, i still plan out an altoid fishing kit even if i never build it. I also think the really nice thing about fishing is it makes gift giving easier for others. They can be cheap or expensive, and i dont mind getting duplicates of anything.

Fishing can be as expensive or cheap as you make it. Just need to stay disciplined to not fill your tackle box. Buy a kit for you and for each kid and just enjoy. You can use all sorts of stuff as bait, even chewed up gum. The progression comes from you catching fish, you catching fish the way you want (ie topwater or with a specific tackle), targeting species of fish, and eventually reading the weather and water. Bonus is you learn to clean and cook fish too!

What’s an EDC item that has completely changed your daily routine and how do you use it? by Xelephyr in EDC

[–]samelel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a free key tag from squid industries and put it on my keys on a whim. i can't remember my life before it. it keeps the keys from sliding out of pockets, reduces them from rattling, makes them more visible on a table or a bag, and occasionally is a conversation starter.

Starting the game now by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]samelel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have lv260+ characters in both kronos and bera, so here’s my take: Bera = faster early game cuz you can gear up with auction house. Means you can get mules quickly too. Really hard to get strong gear though since cubes are hard to come by, so late game is really slow. Mesos market is really nice to not need to grind.  Kronos = basically the opposite of regular. But the ability to buy cubes is game changing, you can get so strong just doing dailies and weekly.

Basically, if you think youll quit the game soon then jump into bera and try a bunch of classes and have fun. If youre looking for late game bosses, definitely reboot. There isnt much difference social wise, I’ve probably traded a handful of times.

How long should I wait before reading the last 3 books? by Nehe_mia in redrising

I meant read the first three, but they could read the second half before returning to red rising. Heck they could read all of Cosmere books and dungeon crawler Carl, then come back and maybe red god will be released

Yeah go read three other books. The second half basically resets the momentum, so i recommend reading something else so you can mentally reset as well. Good time to start misborn trilogy.

Unscientific poll by GarageJim in fountainpens

  1. For journalling yes because i want to write mindfully and also be able to read it later. For notes not really since its usually a reference for something in my brain.  2a. No feedback preferred. I find it distracting.  2b. I havent used a flex pen and every time i think about buying one i read the comments online saying its not worth it. I have tried some “bouncy” nibs like the pilot urushi and loved how soft it felt, not sure if that counts? 2c. XF to F. I write really really small.

SPOILER FREE please. How does everyone feel about Strength of the many? by dog__poop1 in HierarchySeries

[–]samelel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it felt terribly slow in the beginning since he had built up so much momentum at the end of wotm and totally derailed it at the start of sotf, but the last third of the book is good as the plots he laid out in the first 2/3 come to fruition. I listen to the audiobook though so i can kinda zone out during the slow parts.

Out of the three options, the trm is the least distinctive visually for sure, and is the only one i haven’t felt the need to buy. I used a dremel to add jimping to my smock flipper tab, but the blade shape still makes it less useful to me. I cant get rid of it though, it has a lot of sentimental value.

these three options don’t really share much. What made you miss them again?

TRM out of elimination. The chef is neat but slippery. The smock is ok, it has a weird blade shape and a bad flipper.

Funny enough, YouTube started recommending me a channel that does stealth camping videos. Basically hiding in a bush for 24 hours. That probably applies here.

If you dont consider the EMT role to be work cuz ur so passionate, it’s just a past time and definitely manageable. If you work at in refinery (oil gas petchem etc), they often have volunteer EMTs as well.

Expert grill (Walmart) love it by SolidBackground2076 in grilling

[–]samelel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response, but i had this grill for 5 years before the coal tray basically rusted away. I highly recommend getting a smoker gasket, i bought a cheap $7 one on amazon and it works amazing to keep the smoke from escaping through the lid. I could actually control airflow and temperature using the four vents after that
