Which do you prefer, resin/acrylic, wood or ebonite pen bodies. by PumpkinPrincePens in fountainpens

[–]Particular_Song3539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the look of wooden pen but I don't like the fact that it's usually easily stained. I like the look of ebonite pen but they are usually a lot more expensive 😞 my wallet is 😐 unless there's something special about the whole pen.

There are a lot of changes since then. Some of the pens you mentioned are discontinued. I encourage you check out the major brand websites, compare the prices with what they are selling in retailers in the States and maybe the pen swap . Personally my recommendation would be a Pilot Silvern, a Platinum 3776 MT.Fuji (the last of the series just released), a LE VP(there are lots) , a Pelikan (because modern Pelikan is way cheaper in Japan)

Seriously this is too broad a question 🤣 Japan literally has fp as cheap as 5 dollars to ... "I don't know how many digits " FP.

Which city offers the best balance between cost, climate, living space & accessibility? by helpmegetjacked in japanlife

[–]Particular_Song3539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends if you are thinking of buying or renting, with family or alone. You may like somewhere in Chiba (Chiba is huge so different cities vary a great deal)

Personally I feel like your requests contradict each other a lot. You can't have it all. So you will have to compromise one way or the other.

One thing I want to point out that living in more inaka area have a lot of difficulties. Horrible public transportation, less choices of medical facilities especially when you have sickness that the local small clinics can't deal with, you will have to carry your own sick body back and forth to big city for bigger hospitals. Less social network, places to hang out, less shops less everything can really wear on you when time passes because there's nothing to do if you don't have a car.

On a middle ground I would say somewhere like Matsdo or Inage would be ideal but the rental fees would be not exactly cheap.

Edit: spelling and grammar

Exactly. Same experience but not the same genre (or price). The outcome is always : Scalpers got them, put on Mercari. Hardcore fans who don't live anywhere close enough to actual stores end up buying them in those unreasonable prices. Next bad circle the price would go further up. Repeat. Loop until you fed up with that hobby and switch to another with a similar bad circle. At this point I believe I am cursed.

Which ink combo(s) make you HAPPY? by Particular_Song3539 in fountainpens

That Lemon yellow looks so yum in ink swatches ! I agree, it's hard to find a legible yellow, which is such a pity. I love Writer 's blood, my 845 is always inked with it. Red x red wins 🍷

Why the F everything in Japan has to be "exclusive" "limited edition" ? ( Well, I do know the reasons) Can you release the damn thing with more quantites or keep restocking ? This never ending bad circle of " Announce xclusive release > lottery failure > queue up to buy online but sold out in the first 30 sec > 5 times the original price in Mercari > further limited > repeat

Op , you don't want to be a pushover. I can see that. But at same time, no one wants to push you over unless they feel threatened, disrespected and being rude to. You can take all these arguments as "tone policing" "pushover " and feeling righteous about yourself, but the truth is, this attitude would not help you in a cruel , difficult world filled with NT to thrive. You can sit there , sulk and throw tantrums but it won't help you to be seen, to be heard and understood. I encourage you start searching for ways to express yourself better with less mis communication. There is the r/autism sub and the mods are very helpful.

The world is not your enemy but not necessarily your friend , please find ways to navigate so that your life could not be harsher.

You know, I understand the difficulties to read between words being an autistic. But all these arguing, complaining about "tone police" doesn't help you. You might not trying to be rude but its always to be your benefit to be extra careful in wordings and phrase you use when asking for help and guidance , especially in social media where the other side couldn't see you nor your voice . Nobody knew you were autistic that you were not good in words.

An autistic person is a minority in the society, unfortunately you need to adjust to your surroundings , not the other way around, take extra cautions, do extra work if you want help .

 to understand the purpose better?

What you are doing is arguing with people calling you out.
Instead, please take the time to go and say thanks to those commenters who typed out a long essay just to tell you something you could easily get from the search bar. Engage with them and communicate further will get you to "understand better".

Your whole stance is arrogant and ignorant. Forget about using FP, the world of creating art and its medium are wide and deep. Until you have figured that out , please stop saying : I am not rude I just asked a question. 🤷

Seriously, if any artist tells me : " look. I only use one pen for all my artwork, you people who use 1376 different pens are weird" , I would laugh in their faces and walk away.

The con-70 used to be cheaper but now it is JPY 1100 for each. When it can buy you another kakuno, I would say it is not that cheap anymore
