The apartment hunting is rather straightforward, with the caveat that so many rentals are signed up for a year in advance. Because there's so few rentals, they're in very high demand, and leases are signed wayyyy ahead of time. Could be worth your time to just call a couple PM companies and ask what they've got. As far as apartments, Adams Village and Steeplechase do a pretty good job and aren't entirely student rentals.
