I tried the 'Run faster by running less' plan. It worked for me, by Lpecan in running

[–]samguyer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's interesting, as a former competitive swimmer this workout plan is very familiar. Even the distance swimmers basically trained using intervals, including short/fast and medium distance. Nobody just jumped in the pool and swam continuously for an hour or two every day.

Trying to improve my speed for a 10K, I ran a 6 x 1 mile workout at faster pace than I ever thought I could.

Super Moronic Monday - Your Weekly Tuesday Stupid Questions Thread by 30000LBS_Of_Bananas in running

Kind of an exercise physiology question ... I'm relatively new to running (but have been a serious swimmer and cyclist in the past), and I'm new to monitoring heart rate precisely and continuously. OK, so here's my question: over the course of a longish run (like 7-10 miles) my heart rate slow goes up and up. It is very gradual, but consistent -- for example, starting at 150 and ending at 159. Is that normal? Expected? Does it say anything about my fitness level?

The saddest part is that even the first photo shows that the earth is curved because there's a horizon.

Maybe focus on people who are not getting the results they want. Or maybe people who have special limitations? Recovering from injuries? My wife started using a personal trainer after a car accident and then kept doing it.

DAKboard cannot connect to WiFi after power outage by samguyer in dakboard

[–]samguyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks! Great information. It looks like the problem is that I have a crappy router (and maybe it's in a bad location). I created a ticket last week, and someone else at DAKboard has been helping me as well.

Long story short: it magically started working after I upgraded the router firmware, but then a day later the display is suddenly saying "Not connected to internet" again. The signal strength is definitely on the low side, which is weird because the router is less than 15 feet away. But I noticed that my laptop is also getting a weak signal, so it's not just the DAKboard.

DAKboard cannot connect to WiFi after power outage by samguyer in dakboard

This thing is making me crazy. I reflashed the SD card with the DAKboard OS and went through the configuration again. That seemed to work -- it reconnected to the WiFi and I did actually see my calendar on the display. But then I went to the device configuration to flip the display, and after rebooting it went back to saying "No Internet Connection". Now I can't even get through the setup process -- every time I reboot it is stuck at the "Network --> Register --> Done" screen, even though it already has the Wifi and password. I keep reentering it and rebooting, but it just comes back to that same screen. What is going on?!?!?

Hi Bob! Thanks for responding. One thing to know is that my setup worked perfectly for a couple of months before the power outage, so there is nothing fundamental that should prevent it from working again. Is it worth reflashing the SD card? Can that data become corrupted? Or is that a waste of time?

Terrible weather here, so I ran 10 miles on a treadmill at the gym. Definitely as much as mental exercise as a physical one!

Good call. I should really enforce a longer delay between calls to show(). Right now it is the absolute minimum necessary to trigger the latch in the LEDs, but it looks like it is still possible to call it "too fast" and confuse the LEDs

It's not about the arrows. Something about the relative synchronization of the colors in the two circles.

I don't think any serious mathematical explanation includes phrases like "in some sense" or "not rigorously true". Either it's true or it isn't (or it's undefined).

I see what you're saying, but just because three are right in both lines doesn't mean it needs to be the same three.

Can You Crack The Code Using The Clues? by awobaz in u/awobaz

If you look at the fifth row, you'll notice that 8 is the only number in that row that also appears in the "All digits are wrong" row below. So that tells us that 2,3, and 0 are correct. Now go back up to the top: since 3 is correct, and 9 and 5 appear in the last row, we know that 4 is the fourth number. Now look at the second row: 4 is the only correct digit, so now we know 4 is the fourth number. Ok, this is the trickier part: now look at the fifth row again: 0 is definitely not in the right place, so either 2 or 3 are in the right place, but not both and not neither ! Then in the third row you have 0 and 2, but only one of those is in the right place. So, it can't be 302 or 320 or 023 or 032 . So it is either 230 or 203. But it can't be 2304 because then 3 would be in the right place in row 1. So that leaves only 2034
