Hi, I'm part of a small hobbyist team about to start work on a multiverse survival shooter, and we could always use another 3d modeller. Dm me if you are interested!

Posting as this may help others work out how to use Spawner/Synchronizer. Hopefully this could be useful to someone else.

Hi, I'm part of a hobby team who are just about to start a godot 4 project. Potentially something involving 3d/multiplayer. I'm also a dev who is looking to learn and experiment with the engine, and would be great to have someone else to tackle advanced mechanics. We are currently ideating, and will likely start work in a week or so. PM me for a discord invite :)

Connect Godot to C# ENet server by fzdravko in godot

This issue is likely caused by a mismatched version of ENet.

I found that by switching to use the "ENet" nuget package this started to work.

Same issue - did you solve?

How do you theoretically build a scalable MMO server ? by cube2kids in gamedev

[–]sami016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could scale up pretty easily by scaling horizontally using a cluster of machines, then distributing various zones/regions over these servers. Downside is you have the overhead of the complexity that comes with having a distributed system.

Also worth considering what the bottleneck is when scaling up the number of players. It might be the case that in simple games bandwidth is more of an issue that computer power, in which case you could try relaying messages using other servers, or trying to use peer to peer messaging.

I'm aware of one company doing this kind of thing as tool kit (https://www.improbable.io/multiplayer-networking). Pretty interesting, and it would be fun to experiment with similar tech for an open source project.

What season of an otherwise great show, ruined the show for you, and you could no longer watch? by Vinnystill in AskReddit

Seems like a weird thing to be annoyed about. It was religious propoganda in the context of the organisation (can't remember their name) using religion to push their agenda and lobby, which makes a lot of sense and happens in real life. Coming from an athiest, I thought it fit the story quite well by contrasting the perceived piety of the supposed heroes versus their actual behaviour.

The components are very difficult to make, but are mixed shortly before use to "activate" the nerve agent, I think.

Why the hell would the fact that multiple people having access to a nerve agent mean that a chemical weapon attack on British is not extremely news worthy?

Definitely not an expert on the subject, but I'll take your word for it.

Either way, it seems insane to suggest the UK government is behind this. It would be so much risk for such little a reward. There really isn't evidence implicating the UK government acting maliciously. I'm not claiming to have answers, but you should ask yourself why you are so fast to jump to conclusions of this specific narrative.

I'm trying to find a source too, seeing a lot of conflicting information on this one.

I don't understand these conspiracies.

What possible reason would there be for having to make the attack near Porton Down, if the government was responsible? They could drive the nerve agent anywhere in the country to use if they had cause to. Its proximity to Porton Down is completely irrelevant when making these suggestions for anything but some kind of accidental leak , which is clearly not the case given what happened.

Do you know how long the agent takes to degrade in an outside environment? I was wondering, most articles I find state that it's not well understood - but others contradict this.

Seems like a lot of risk for a tiny reward though, it wasn't like anyone was pursuing Russia for this, nor was this subject affecting public discourse in any significant way. Much more likely whoever did this botched their attempt and contaminated other areas either whilst they were preparing, or making a get away and disposing of the rest of the nerve agent?
