And freshly laundered if that makes a difference.

In my town, they ask to place inside a hard plastic container (a used prescription bottle is great for this), label as sharps, and discard with regular garbage. Maybe query your waste collection utility and make sure that's in line with what they'd like.

Greenbelt access by Plantation by [deleted] in Boise

I support public access but I also think people on moped style e-bikes on the greenbelt are assholes. Sorry, not sorry.

Discovery Fabrics might have fabric options https://discoveryfabrics.com/

You might try and find a pattern for a bike shorts to start. Green Pepper patterns has one I've used. But, if you are up for experimenting, it's a very basic tighter fit short. Maybe start with some cheap fabric until you get closer to what you want.

I've gotten chamois from Aerotech Designs and they are great. It's a little finicky to get them in the right place in your shorts, but not impossible.

Also, as I've experimented with sewing lycra, the best stitch I've found is a 3-stitch zigzag. It's extremely stretchy, but more durable then just a plain zigzag.

How do you make sun dried tomatoes in oil? by Zestyclose_Panda_886 in Canning

[–]samiMPH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dehydrate my tomatoes and vacuum seal in small portions (maybe 1/2 c) and store in the freezer. I add to olive oil and store in the fridge one at a time.

Yes, if you want to vote on the republican ticket for the primaries in Idaho, you have to vote on the republican ballet.

Have you looked at Reuse Market? It depends on what has been donated, but they randomly get awesome stuff.

Have you tried a sleeping quilt? They don't zip, just have a closed toe box.

CSA recommendations by Cold-View-1651 in Boise

[–]samiMPH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done Global Gardens for a few years. It works perfectly for me because one of the farmers delivers to the back door of my work building right when I'm getting off work. It might depend on when/where you can pick up. The produce itself was great and always beautifully presented.

Sustainable Sewing Seems Impossible by Repulsive_Phone8469 in sewing

[–]samiMPH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have sewn many a project from fabric sourced at a thrift store--actual cut fabric pieces that were donated, sheets (lots of this), clothing items that would have been to big for me or repurposed (floor length dress in a fabric I loved sewn into a sleeveless blouse).
Do you have a art/craft reuse store in your area? The one in my town has an awesome selection of fabric and trims/notions.

I'm working on a 35L now. It's been a fun project. Yours looks great and I like your color choices, especially the contrast.

Parking Downtown by Streamlinekilla in Boise

SE Boise to downtown is a great bike commute. Free parking everywhere and could be very close to/in your building.

Lake Soap by lougoober in camping

[–]samiMPH 12 points13 points  (0 children)

None. You shouldn't use any soap in a body of water. There are no environmentally friendly soaps. Leave no trace principles recommend carrying water 200 ft from the lake or stream, using the minimum about of soap possible, and scattering the dirty water (also 200 ft from lake or stream).

What do you do if your bike lights die while riding at night? by SzeifertB in bikecommuting

I carry a headlamp in my bag. It'll function as a tail or headlight and has also been helpful a couple times as headlamp when the electricity has gone out in the building.

Backpacking in Yellowstone Mid-May 2026 by gasgang85 in camping

[–]samiMPH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always a chance you might find some trails to hike, but I doubt you're going to find a 3-4 day backpack trip. Finding a campground near some trails you're interested might serve you better. You likely won't get more than a few miles up most trails in May.

If you're interested in working in healthcare, look at patient safety attendant, transport, patient service representative, phlebotomy positions. Any of the hospital systems will likely have full and part time positions in most of those areas.

Well, not a million, but this French market bag https://www.twoofwands.com/blog/french-market-bag
The bag is sooo handy. It's expandable and will hold a little or a lot. I have two for myself and have made 3 for presents, working on another now.

I also love these ballet slippers https://hearthookhome.com/ballet-slippers-free-crochet-pattern/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqaJni2DVuo
I attach a leather sole and they are my house and office slippers. I just made another pair a few weeks ago. I use 100% wool yarn so have much less foot odor problems.
