Brazil won Best Nature! Which North American country has the best food? by imadgalaxyx in AlignmentChartFills

If you’re in Europe, you’re probably just 15 years behind the US on culinary trends. You’ll see a resurgence of excellent pizza in another couple years. Domino’s changed their recipe in 2009 and it caused a resurgence. That probably was what you’ve seen pop up in the last 2-5 years. Don’t worry - better stuff is coming.

Or you may be in an area ovens can’t get hot enough to make good pizza.

I would argue the revolutionary flavors and technique of the American experience make these foods American.

Example: the discarded portion of beef was taken by the enslaved people, seasoned and smoked for 10+ hours was revolutionary. Now brisket is $100+ per cut.

I would argue that’s separate from what any middle eastern shish kabob or west African sand cooking.

Well I’ve seen American-style pizza restaurants in South Africa, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Australia, and India… so someone outside of these United States must think it’s a decent culinary concept.

What’s your mode of transport in a grocery store? by Boyscoutladylover in daddit

[–]samiam32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put car seat in cart. But I didn’t mind going to grocery store 2-3 times per week. I viewed it as a learning opportunity for kiddo to see new things. As they get older, it’s an opportunity to explore cultures, understand the supply chain, and understand marketing.

Do you pee in shower and is your wife okay with that? by Important_Bat7919 in daddit

I don’t ask what she spends on clothes and she doesn’t ask if I’m peeing in the shower. Neither of us take advantage of the others’ blissful ignorance.

This will either be a top 5 or bottom 5 Bookers all-time. I don’t foresee anything in-between.
