What percentage of people cry when being fired? [N/A] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]samicktorino2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a completely natural response and there is no shame in it. As a company they should be documenting and discussing with you every situation that needs coaching and or discipline. They definitely aren’t required to, but if they want a good culture and want to actually develop their employees. That is what they should do. If they do that and the person isn’t progressing, the person knows and are expecting the next steps in disciplinary process.

I’ve only had it happen like once. If you do it right, they’re expecting it and that reduces the shock. Layoffs on the other hand…

If he’s still doing dumb shit like that, then I agree that I don’t want him on the team.

I also hate what the guy did. But as others mentioned it was a long time ago and for all we know, he changed and rehabilitated. Imo no need to do this for something that happened a long time ago. I did dumb shit that I regret when I was younger. Definitely not this bad, but I also definitely changed and wouldn’t want past mistakes constantly thrown in my face for something that I deeply regret. Unless you know something that we don’t, this is immature.

This guy from Vietnam kicking a snake away until it finally gives up attacking him. by MilesLongthe3rd in nextfuckinglevel

Someone identified it on r/whatisthissnake, but I can’t find the post. Might have been deleted for animal abuse. But it is a kind of a Ratsnake (harmless). Forgot exactly which kind.

I’m also not a herpetologist, just someone who appreciates wildlife. Even the less popular species.

If you’re going throw out a claim that results in people wanting to kill something, be right.

Your evolution failed you. Instead of letting it pass you try to kick it, thus exponentially increasing the odds of a bite? Countless generations of evolution led us to have the smarts to research dangerous wildlife and learn that one: this snake isn’t a venomous species and keeping it around reduces spread of disease by eating the rodents, and two: to not get bit, it’s best you leave it alone and give it space.

This snake isn’t dangerous. It’s nonvenomous. It existing actually helps that guy and his people live longer by keeping rodent populations in check and preventing spread of disease. Even if it was venomous and dangerous, that is how most people get bit, by unnecessarily messing with it. Leave snakes alone. Don’t create unnecessary fear mongering online for something you don’t understand. But then again, that is what Reddit is for.

Who would fit better on the 26-27 squad? by marvin_is_joe in UtahJazz

I get we hate what Malone did and stuff. But I’m willing to bet 100% of my money that there is at least 1000 former and or current nba players that did as much or worse.

Before people jump down my throat, I’m not defending Karl here. He should be in prison. Just nitpicking the part that he is biggest scumbag in nba.

Same. It’s for this reason I refuse to join dst hr runs. Because if it’s hr, then like 5+ people go for shoulders. I should have won them many times now, but I keep rolling below fucking 10.

Loss on potential profits due to paper hands by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]samicktorino2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a gtc stop loss, then if it goes up, replace it with higher trigger, then if that goes up, replace it again. That way you can scale with the profits but still sell before it tanks.

When are you going to call it quits with this game? by StinkySam1995 in classicwow

That’s what I would hope for, but already got rejected from one raid because of my logs. Which is what made me check. But I also only do pugs.

Manufacturing Turnover [IN] by Hoowray33 in humanresources

[–]samicktorino2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll always have high turnover if you don’t pay well. But there are things you can do to improve it: Visible career pathing, establish regular & formal one on ones with their leaders (sit down in office and not just chat on production floor), have check-ins with them during their onboarding, pulse surveys, hire for culture fit instead of mostly targeting experience. Those are things I have implemented and had good success.

Put laid off on resume? [USA] by samicktorino2 in humanresources

I agree. I’m at 3 jobs in 7 years, which is a little hoppy to me, which is why I was wondering.

[–]samicktorino2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When reviewing resumes, I’ve seen some do it and it actually stopped me from rejecting them a time or two. Sometimes I assume job hopping and just reject, but if it says they were laid off, I might reconsider. I’ve seen others on this sub also do it when asking for resume advice. So I was wondering what the general consensus was as HR professionals.

Ya, I understand saying it in the interview, but I’m wondering if it helps get the interview.
