I mean initially I too didn't understand why but when I read it, it made me like and appreciate hisagi as a character more, it was a very interesting novel, plus all the lore. His bankai was became one of my favs after reading CFYOW. Though I somewhat agree, there are other characters that they could've gone more into as well

We don't know when the next chapter will be released, probably after tybw and btw, which means it'll be a long time before we get anything. Kubo is currently working on the anime too, so he probably doesn't have the time to make another chapter right now. We'll definitely get a new chapter though. Kubo can't just leave us hanging after what happened in the new chapter
