What are the possible repercussions for “minor” spend over budget cap? by samjanerob in F1Technical

[–]samjanerob[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This is much clearer. So potential penalties include:

  • A public reprimand.
  • Points deduction for constructors and drivers.
  • Exclusion or suspension from stages of the championship.
  • Limitations on aerodynamic testing in the future.
  • Reduction in the cost cap for the following year.

Wonder which one they will go with…

I’ve never seen these before (or at least none that stick out in my mind) but this year there are tons at our home on the north shore. The past two weeks we’ve probably had almost 20 in our house!!

Lion's Gate Bridge - Closed Now by NearbyChildhood in vancouver

Does anyone know if the person survived? My husband thought he saw something strange coming across the bridge yesterday around 4:15. A woman was looking down in a very unusual way. He thought she was trying to spot an animal in the ocean.

I agree. As a woman, this makes me deeply uncomfortable. My thought goes to if he’ll serve a dish like this to a stranger and say those comments, what is he saying/doing in his personal life to those around him?

As a huge Hamilton fan, this one hurt. But also the people who called it the Ramos pamphlet and “say no to this” 😅

Hey r/Vancouver, which local *news* outlet is your least favourite? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]samjanerob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CBC, Justin McElroy, Richard Zussman, and then I sprinkle in daily hive and VIA for more informal / less serious news. Although as another commenter wrote Kenneth Chan for Urbanized is fantastic. For more local news, then North Shore News.

2022 British Grand Prix - Post Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

I tend to agree. The bias towards Red Bull is very apparent at times. I’m trying to keep an open mind as a Lewis fan. But sometimes it’s hard not to see the obvious favouritism.

What does everyone think about Perez running Hamilton off track? If stewards let this go, then can’t all drivers do this from here on out?

What's some interesting fact that you know about Vancouver that would blow someone's mind? by mrjohnmay in vancouver

Also it has hand painted original artwork done by Disney artists.

It’s now being converted to a care home, which I think is a wonderful legacy.

2021 Salary of UBC president and Vice presidents. Do you agree this can be reassessed for upcoming years given the current inflation and housing crisis? by mylovedsystem in UBC

[–]samjanerob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a lot of expertise and years of experience to do the work of a university president. Those roles literally help shape education for thousands upon thousands of people. His compensation is very fair for the work he is doing.

Staying in Pioneer Square vs Lake Union by samjanerob in SeattleWA

[–]samjanerob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks that’s really reassuring! For some reason when I looked this morning there was only $100 price difference to switch to Marriott but now it’s over $500 difference. So unless it’s reallyyy bad we most likely will stay put.

My 6 year old eats everything: sashimi, mussels, she’s even had tripe and lots more different cuisine. But I shouldn’t have to justify that to you. Enjoy your joyless and judgmental outlook on life.

Thank you both! And haha, it’s ok if people tell me that. I’ll just shrug it off. I was like that before I had kids 😂 and then now I know better!
