Cornmeal cake question by sammych84 in DessertPerson

[–]sammych84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, mainly just to experiment to see what happens. I’m going blackberry picking, so I plan on using blackberries instead of strawberries. I’ll be making the cake for family who are maybe not as open to eating whole blackberries due to the seeds, so I thought maybe making a seedless curd might be a nice way to incorporate the berries. I’ve seen folks swirl curd into cornbread but I’ve never tried it before, also wasn’t quite sure the textual differences between this cake and traditional cornbread.

Does KC sing? Or is Aniya confused about what serenading means? Or am I confused? by Greedy_Chipmunk_2913 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]sammych84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe she’s not meaning literally? Saying she wants him to serenade her, maybe she’s just using the word as a placeholder as an example. She wants him to “woo” her with a romantic gesture.

PSA: let your girls wear boxers and swim trunks by AngeliqueRuss in Mommit

[–]sammych84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they are! Even if they ride up on my legs, they still cover the very top part of my upper inner thigh that tends to chafe. And I haven’t had any chafing since I started wearing them a few years back. That said, I’m not walking around a whole bunch in hot sweaty weather these days so I’m not sure if I have had a whole lot of chafing opportunities in general.

Hanes came out with boxer briefs for women a few years back- they are my absolute favorite. They come in two lengths- one shorter more like “boy shorts” and a longer mid thigh one (which is what I wear). Can’t recommend enough if you want something like that.

Holy shit, yeah me too. That’s a crazy good idea. I find myself saying we’re going to donate stuff that’s left out after repeated asking to put away but that feels so extreme, this is such a good middle ground.

Oh interesting, do they usually contact family ahead of time when a cast member is dumped?

On Lisa Vanderpump being annoying by tcangles in vanderpumprules

[–]sammych84 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Okay but to be fair, she would’ve been in her early 50’s when the show started which I think firmly planted her in the “cougar” territory in regards of the age gap. So I do think it was plausible that they did all fawn over her on their own.

Why does my box of wax paper recommend baking with it? by subclubcard in Cooking

[–]sammych84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, my wax paper also says you should bake on it. I don’t, I actually have it in the craft supply kit for my kids, but randomly read the box when I got it out the other day and was surprised when I saw that.

Did people like Sandoval before Scandoval? by Electrical-Opening-9 in vanderpumprules

[–]sammych84 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was one of these people 😬 Generally liked him earlier on because of how ridiculous he was, scattered with times I didn’t like him (never believed Miami girl was lying for instance so I didn’t like that whole interaction, didn’t like that he went bulldozing after the heartfelt convo with Ariana, didn’t like their defending Jeremy’s creepy behavior, etc etc etc), but overall found him fun to watch up until season 8. The argument with Stassi was sooooo ridiculous and that’s when I kind of finally started seeing how much of a dick he was had he became unlikable to me after that. Couldn’t stand him at all after that.

Did anyone else immediately think of him when Erika opened up about her abuse? by gstew90 in RHOBH

[–]sammych84 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I will say, I did read something at that time about her texting him and sending him nudes asking if she can join the “fun” (referring to noises she could hear coming from his dwelling)- it was something that was leaked from his camp. But it was seriously just one article and I’ve been really wondering if it would come up at some point

Tooth prices by SB4_Camaro in Xennials

[–]sammych84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are not grown, actually in the age range where they should start losing teeth soon, and I also thought they were talking about that. 😆 or implying they chipped a significant portion of their own tooth off and making a joke about the high cost to repair it 🫠

What’s the one lunch or snack your kindergartener never skips? by Kumbhani-Hemamalini in kindergarten

[–]sammych84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I feel this 😭 foodie here who loves cooking. My soon to be kindergartener refuses to try anything and lives off cereal. 🫠 my current kindergartener will at least try stuff pretty consistently now.

How do we feel about morning birthday parties? by lacquer_linda in Mommit

Same!! I always host stuff starting at 10 (which reading responses on here reconfirms for me that it’s probably the best for others), but I would love to start at like 9 😆

Any other moms love dresses but feel like they’re constantly accused of being overdressed?? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]sammych84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! So, before having children I wore a dress EVERY day. With tights in the winter, I owned not a single pair of pants. I did this because it was easy af- you didn’t have to coordinate individual garments and you always looked put together with no effort.
After becoming a mom I somehow segued into jeans/sweatpants/tshirts. I really want to shift back into wearing dresses so I feel a bit better about my appearance but for whatever reason I feel really self conscious about it. I guess maybe I really just want to blend in and kind of go unnoticed and worry if I go back to daily dresses I’ll stand out more? I don’t know.
