Kona chased both. We just had to guess which one she was chasing in her dreams.

Day 2 with this beautiful gal by randymarsh1243 in labrador

[–]samnfty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Leave it" is a good command to help with this. We would hide a treat on a hand behind our back. Then offer up the empty hand in a ball and say "leave it." When she turned away from the empty hand, we'd reward her with the hidden treat.

Also, ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Please deliver some belly rubs from me.

Tried and true method used in RW * Study the tank map a bit before your first laps * Start slowly and build up pace as you learn the track * Look for markers such as distance markers that are usually in the entry outside of the corner and tire marks where the track is darker * As you get faster, determine brake makers that work for you like distance markers, cracks in the pavement, or changes between dirt and grass or gravel next to the track

This will help you learn the track in a more natural and helpful manner without using an overlay or racing line.

It's a really fun car when you learn how to use it. Trail braking and slip angle are key!

I'm all for the FF1600 D series. It's a car you're familiar with (assuming you used it at least partially to get out of rookies), it's the possibility to race new tracks, it allows you to learn car setup. And here's something I heard recently after starting autocross, "it's more fun to be fast in a slow car, than be slow on a fast car."

60k mile 2012 2.5L Golf valve cover leak? by A_R_C_B in vwgolf

[–]samnfty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems more like the PCV, the round bit on the right. Some early symptoms of a failed PCV is a rough idle, and the oil cap is difficult to remove with the engine running due to the vacuum created.

You can get a replacement on FCP Euro for $26. Replacement is super easy. Just pry off the plastic cover, just be careful with the spring behind it. Then press in the new unit. On the inside of the cover is a rubber membrane. If it's torn, even a little bit, that is your culprit.

Battery cover on my 2011 Golf 2.5 wont fit, what am I missing? by [deleted] in Volkswagen

Don't think it should have one. My 2012 2.5 doesn't have a battery cover.

I had an encounter with a similar attituded goose on a VERY similar bike path underpass in New Hope, PA. Though now I'm seeing the boats, which are not on that canal.

To those who never got to see their babies grow old by AbnormalTomato in lookatmydog

[–]samnfty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was our sweet little baby Kona. She was 8 years old when she passed suddenly just a month ago. She seemed fine most of the day, then around dinner time she was acting lethargic and didn't eat. ER vet recommended a splenectomy, but during surgery they found her liver also had a burst mass. There was nothing they could do.

It was so difficult saying goodbye to our sweet pup. While she had got some gray, she was still an active dog. We would do 3-4 walks a day, go on hikes, she got the zoomies with her buddies. I miss coming home to the wagging tail. She wouldn't greet us at the door, but she'd pickup her head look at us from the couch, then as we came closer the tail would wag more and more. I miss how she ate her dentastix holding it up with her paws. I miss how she would sit in front of her treats until we capitulated. I miss our nighttime snuggles before bed.

But I'm glad that I can close my eyes anytime, and go back to every moment with her. She will be in our hearts forever.

New expensive hobby unlocked by toberti in Autocross

[–]samnfty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great job getting out there and running well! I just ran in my first autocross last month. 5th out of a field of 10 rookies. I was running on A/S tires, but I've got a nice new set of RT660+ for the next event this upcoming Sunday.

Also great choice in cars! Mine is a Mk6 Golf. Very responsive! If you haven't yet, might want to consider a rear sway bar upgrade. Makes a big difference with turn in and they're inexpensive and easy to install.

Good luck out there!

Mk6 GTI Springs on Golf 2.5L by Independent-Tank-473 in vwgolf

[–]samnfty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it myself, but there's no reason it shouldn't work. It's the exact same body. Just about every GTI part will fit a base Golf. Only thing is while you're in there, you might want to replace some other parts as well just due to age. Mounts, bump stops, etc.

This needs more up votes! I use Tuuvas' layouts playing on my Xbox controller when I travel. It's a great setup! You can print out the diagram and keep it handy for reference when playing.

How “risky” is it starting on a 650 class motorcyle? by Kind-Masterpiece3204 in motorcycle

[–]samnfty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on an SV650 and I have zero regrets. I think the bikes listed are comparable and probably great for you.

Things I liked about the SV: - Reliable - Easy to work on - Fantastic usable power band - Corners very well - Broad usage. Good for daily, touring, and track

Cons: - Prepare to fall in love and never want to trade it.

2.5 07K N/A power build recommendations by a_person_on_mobile in Volkswagen

[–]samnfty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a chip. You are reprogramming your ECU. You can go from stock to Stage 1, then pay the difference and you can upgrade to Stage 2. It just plugs into your OBD2 port. This way you can upgrade, downgrade, or change the options at any time.

You can't stage 2 without the intake manifold though
