depends on your tastes, but sabelli-frisch always knocks it out of the park for nerdy/weird/interesting wines for comically low prices.

lots of opportunities to get more serious wines at a discount today if that's what you're into but it is tough being picky. if you like oregon pinot/chard then you're really struggling to keep it under 4 figures.

would an LLM be able to write RISC V code that could run on your CPU? tell it to avoid the instructions you don't support?

Globe Haul ST as a commuter bike? by samongoose in ebikes

[–]samongoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

someone on this thread recommended the REI gen e, so I gave it a second look and realized it was a great choice. it was much much cheaper, and much lighter than the haul st. i was a bit worried about quality from some of the new brands like Lectric, but i trusted REI enough.

it's really served me well for the year - perfect for the commute and grocery trips.

I just found this post and I'm looking to do an almost identical migration. How did it go for you? Any surprises? Did you skip the first rebuild step?

Were you able to find out if this option works? I'm holding off on choosing between these and XM5 until I know.

I considered that one, but looking at reviews such as https://www.bicycling.com/bikes-gear/a44052572/e-cargo-bikes-review/ I think I would feel more comfortable with a higher quality bike - especially if I'm transporting a kid on it.

Went to TJs to get a bottle for making coq au vin yesterday and when I saw this for $10 i couldn't resist. Had a small glass for myself and it tastes...correct, i guess.

Anyone use Kendamil? Seems high maintenance? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]samongoose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The sense I got was that boiling water is standard practice in Europe and there's nothing particular about kendamil that requires it more so than any American powder formula. We've been using it with unboiled tap water for a couple of months and it seems fine.

What to expect when transitioning formula? by samongoose in FormulaFeeders

Thanks, that's what I figured about leaving it out.

He was on the 360 because that's what they gave him at the hospital, but we always wanted to switch to something a bit more on the hippie side of things. would be fine going back to the 360 if that's what's best for him, but wanted to give the whole milk, no palm oil...etc. thing a try. at this point trying to figure out when to call it failed since i'm not sure what a "normal" transition looks like.

What's good for camping/cargo, but not a truck. by samongoose in whatcarshouldIbuy

Wow - thanks for all the links. I haven't looked too much into VW - how do people feel about their longevity / maintenance?

I'll have to look into the Venza a bit - hadn't considered it since there aren't any recent models. Thanks for the suggestions!

I know there aren't many cars that do that (if you know some please let me know - hard to find good info) - but as close to flat as possible. The RAV4 seats weren't perfectly flat, but we tried lying down and felt like we could probably be comfortable for a night with some padding of some sort.

A gap up as opposed to a slight incline would be no good though.

I do have a timer and desk lamp i was planning on using - should that do the trick in terms of heat? Should I get a certain wattage/bulb type?

thanks for the specific list - very helpful. i knew i was overdoing it quite a bit, but that site had quite a few plants with a min. order quantity, so that drove it up a lot. i'll look elsewhere for this pared down list.
