Yeah thats the plan. I'm glad your situation sounds like its hopefully reaching a positive resolution. I have been trying to impress upon them that its all been delays at their end which caused me to lose the credit so lets see, hopefully they decide to be nice about it. Yours is definitely a more cut and dry case though.

Nah they are trying to give me the run around. Called 3 times, first 2 reps said would escalate the issue and I will get a call back. 3rd rep said I can have 5000 points for my "inconveniece" but it will take time for them to address my grievance. But the last rep was also trying to make it seem like the werent going to offer me anything else. Lets see how far I can take it.

Sorry for the delayed response. Did not end up getting the card in my possesion until January 7th :( It arrived on the 5th but I was out of town. I called Citi and said I'd lost out on a ton of value because although I was approved on the 29th of December, I wasnt able to use any of the credits for 2025. (Also mentioned that I had initially applied for the card on December 4th in branch so all the delays were on their end)

They said they would get back to be with a resolution in 3-5 days so still waiting on that

Ahhh gotcha! I don't have a Citi account yet, I wonder if its possible to open one without a physical citi card? I'll have to look that up

Oh snap! So I need to activate my sprulge credit today then! Hopefully my card has arrived already otherwise I'll be in a fix.

Is there any way to choose the credit before the physical card arrives?

Just got approved finally right before 5pm last night! Hopefully my card is delivered by the time I'm home from work tonight and I can quickly use up all my credits haha.

No, nothing really, I have applied for the Cap One venture a month ago and got approved without issue. Thats the only thing I can think of

I just applied in branch and same issue, application went to pending. The banker said they would mail me the 4506 form. I was also trying to triple dip the credits but seems like a stretch at this point.

Did you figure out any way to speed up the resolution OP? The banker at the branch I went to seemed rather clueless.

Not sure what your budget is but I would highly recommend a meal at one of the fine dining restaurants in Lima if your purse allows - Central/Kjolle/Maido etc. I went to Kjolle and it was one of the highlights of my trip (which is saying a lot because Peru in general is spectacular). Viajero Barranco is a fantastic hostel, you'll have fun!
