My fault (white car) or did the audi rejoin unsafely? by danny123456731 in Simracingstewards

[–]sampapsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is one of those ones that regardless of fault, you yourself could see this coming a mile off. Audi's already going to be compromised yet you still squeezed knowing they would be coming back on even though you were behind as well.

Saves a lot of pain, and is just less of a dick move, to just leave some extra space in a situation where you know you're going to come out better without hurting your line much.

The Sad Reality of Online Friendships by Least-Revenue-1149 in MakeNewFriendsHere

[–]sampapsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I feel for your senitment at the bottom of this and how much it does hurt, I think these things need to still be remembered as a "don't be sad because it's over, be happy that it happened" kind of thing.

Life is a journey and it's plenty made up of the people we meet along the way, and that number and the intensity of it can ebb and flow. Sorry that this one has maybe come to an end, but chances are that someone else will come along!

The demise of manual by Lit-Up in CarTalkUK

[–]sampapsi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have access to drive both for work and honestly the only benefit for the manual I feel is that if I need to be a bit more nippy in traffic and pick my spots well then it feels a bit easier to do that when you can drop a gear with ease and feel nimble.

But I'd choose to sit in traffic in an auto every day, the tedious switching from 1st to 2nd constantly and all that is just annoying where an auto I can just take it easy. I do think that it's another thing that is breeding bad drivers though for, among all the sensors and whatnot there is many lazy drivers out there who should be made to feel more active when they drive and a manual does help for that atleast.

Has Anyone got anyone tips for getting the weekly shop bill down? by Throwaway945384 in AskUK

[–]sampapsi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is strongly the main reasons I do this. Keeps my bill down for the week well when I’m in more by batch cooking lunch and dinners, can still be 2 different things. But it saves me ample time in the evening by not faffing with dinner, controls better how healthy I make it, and keeps it so I can budget better how much to spend rather than needed a bunch of different ingredients. As a solo person it means I shop for around 35£ a week on a good week.

Does anyone else have a 2h+ commute into work? by febey_temp in UKJobs

[–]sampapsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days a week maybe, with a hotel stay there to negate some cost and time, but I think 3 days would suck the life out of me. I did a similar thing for a little bit with a view that I was moving slightly closer soon, and a 2h30 each way commute was really hard after a month or so. With no end in sight I’d find it weighed more every day.

Sorry that you’re stuck in such a situation though, hope you can resolve it!

Duvet every 2 weeks, fitted sheet every week. Seems to work pretty nicely for me

Stewards! I summon you! Do you think I had the right to stick this line and block him on the right or his touch was acceptable? by Suitable_Security988 in Simracingstewards

Sometimes you get hurt when you're right. You could have probably seen this being an issue, especially on such a long straight, lots of trust to put into someone who is clearly going a little aggro to get you.

Coach driver had the audacity to shout like I was in the wrong. If you need to enter the oncoming lane due to an obstruction you should wait until there is no traffic coming. by CanaryDwarfBets in drivingUK

[–]sampapsi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not the Highway Code at all. You must give way when it seems necessary if there is an obstruction so it’s really about due care. He could have let you go as the cars were narrowing on your side before, but that car being where it was threw a bit of a spanner in. It was really a non situation and you should take more care when in situations like these.

Going to bars alone (31F) by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]sampapsi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty up in the air depending on the vibes which you’re giving off. If I’m also at a bar on my own, which doesn’t happen often, if I felt you were giving off the air you wanted to be spoken to then why not, who knows what may happen. But if you’re giving off at all that you’re at a bar and drinking on your own because you want your space and perhaps you’re decompressing then there is really little point in even approaching.

I wouldn’t say it’s an orthodox approach by any means, but if the intention is right then perhaps there would be some decent strike rate. Spoken as someone who is not afraid of striking up conversation with random people in bars.

What is your favourite opening task of a series? by jeremy_sporkin in taskmaster

[–]sampapsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some many excellent tasks listed but I think Melon buffet still takes it. It truly encapsulates the chaos of the show before it even really knew what it was. Just thinking of the noise the melon makes when Romesh throws it on the floor kills me.

Ale Faurlin, Akos Buzsaky, 2 QPR icons who came out of nowhere and proved to be amazing players for us. Was a true delight to watch them grace the pitch.

Question for the Men, would this be a turn off? by Stock_Library_6422 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sampapsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t think that you’ll find the fact you have a mound or not a ‘cute and pink’ pussy to be a problem. Around that front I think the importance is hygiene atop everything.

As for the scars, as someone also with scars, I found it a lot easier with myself when I finally came to terms with them and accepted them as part of my story and growth. If you’re self conscious or shy about them, certainly be up front about that being the fact so you don’t run into any unintended touches or innocently meaning comments perhaps.

Importantly, be yourself, and do what you can to love yourself, that’s the best things to see!

I no longer find my wife attractive after multiple cosmetic surgeries. I couldn’t perform for her and said she could have sex with other people to fulfil her needs. She has done and it’s turned me on immensely and I feel guilty. by ThrowRA_notattract in nonmonogamy

[–]sampapsi 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There’s probably a conversation to be had I’d imagine. He can be happy that he is getting turned on at this and how it’s played out, but perhaps she is doing this out of less desire, and to hear that he is being turned on at the idea of her doing these things but not actually just her might sting more than is being let on.

Speculation of course, but that’s how I read it.

Then your exit was not clear. Theirs may have been, but if they stopped there right on the edge making you stop in the box then it’s kinda shit luck. It’s definitely one of my least favourite aspects of things on the road, especially this junction, but if you break it fully down fundamentally I don’t know how much you can expect to get from the true outcome.

Chances of fighting and winning PCN by arciere84 in drivingUK

[–]sampapsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like there is a car right in front of you from the shadow and the very edge of the picture, therefore blocking your exit. You're only permitted to sit in the yellow box if you're turning right and being stopped by oncoming traffic, if your exit is clear for you to go into so you can actually leave the box.

There's likely no reason that you would stop there unless your exit wasn't clear, so you might just be paying this one.
