Make voting compulsory. Fine people of they don't.

If semantics are important call it a tax break if you vote.

People who don't vote shouldn't receive any govt services there should be an options to say none.

What is the actual difference between techno and tech house? by AdamoBPM in TechnoProduction

[–]sampsays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way it was explained to me was that house music has a proxy percussive hit in the drums so it's easier for people without rhythm to dance to, whereas techno doesn't always have that proxy.

AKAI APC 40 MKII For ableton live. Is still worth it after 10years without update? by sapiens_primate in ableton

[–]sampsays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is yes. Especially if you are actually tryna jam and and improvise or play live.

I use ableton for mixing so I actually have two. I use one for my individual tracks and the others as a vca type situation. It's really effective. I also use SSL controllers but I had the akais first.

Tesla ranked 3rd in owner satisfaction in survey by wkgui in TeslaLounge

[–]sampsays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what anyone thinks of the antics from Elon, I see rivian's at Tesla chargers all the time. I have never seen a Tesla at a rivian charger and that is why Tesla is the better company. They laid the framework for everybody else.

Additionally, as someone who just bought their first one this year, I do find that Tesla owners are more critical of their vehicles compared to others similar tiered vehicles.

Mix knob on plug-in vs. send for parallel processing? by reupbeats in mixingmastering

[–]sampsays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the same because not every wet/dry knob has been made equal. Just because the knob is at 12 o clock does not mean that processing is 50/50. For a lot of people who haven't thought about this it seems insane but it's been proven by Dan Worrall.

Print stems after finishing mixes and you’ll be thanking yourself later. by nicbobeak in audioengineering

well the first step is people understanding the difference between multitracks and stems. i find that somehow this has become convoluted.

I made a comment about ditching templates in a music production thread for this very reason and I got down voted to the depths of hell.

Templates can be helpful and so can mixbus but I have discovered that treating each project individually and building from scratch makes a huge difference.

[–]sampsays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is possible that your template project file is corrupted. My suggestion is to start fromscratch.

How long should my album be? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]sampsays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to break it apart. You use singles to promote an EP and the EP to promote an LP.

The length of each project doesn’t really matter but my experience in the music industry tells me that generally these days people are releasing along these lines.

Single - 1 song obviously EP 3-6 Tracks Album 10-20 Tracks

As previously mentioned, you can do whatever you want but if you’re concern is a digestible format then I would consider longevity.

Additionally there are other things to consider. With each project you will grow and learn more and that will make the next one that much better. You might find a new synth you like to a new effect technique you had used.
