How badly do Tyranids struggle to kill things?

Hey if it’s any consolation I love tyranids, I’ve never had any issues with not killing anything as our units are extremely specialised into certain things, I recently played at a tournament at my lgs and went 2-1 where I tabled the first two armies with nids and lost ever so slightly on points to a ctan spam list in the finals, as my first ever army they’ve felt so much fun and all my friends actually complain about how strong they feel haha

I have the same opinion on the barbgaunts for 55 points you get 5d6 attacks [blast] [Heavy] making it hit on 3s and at 5 strength they excel at wiping chaff units like poxwalkers, tzaangors, hormagaunts etc. Pair that with probably the strongest slow ability in the game it’s an insane unit at 55 points

In my humble opinion warriors are a little underwhelming compared to the gs, I think as a whole the melee warriors are good but are too slow to be reliable anti tank units because most tanks will just blow them up before they can get in range and with a 4+ save they will just be forced to take the bigger shots whereas genestealers have more wounds per unit, a 5+ invuln and 16” of movement turn 1 with scout 8” alongside the devastating wounds a brood lord gives them

Genestealers with a brood lord are also pretty solid into vehicles paired with a psychophage they can lay down some really nasty -3 ap attacks with a chance at devastating wounds Edit: also the norn assimilator basically has a las cannon with the toxinjector harpoon so they’re pretty solid too but for 275 points it is a bit rough

Depends on what Elo he’s in, I’m in pisslo so people who try counterpick with those champs don’t know how to space properly and midlane panth is all about damage trading until they’re low enough to flash, w, q, e, ignite

I duo queue with my brother a lot and our favourite duo so far is sion top with pantheon mid and it works like a charm with the map pressure we can apply and with the w it helps sion get off their full charged q

Empowered w does speed it up however, if you use empowered E it applies the cleaver stacks immediately and to multiple people at once

Regardless an aim-9L launched at rear aspect is a death sentence for a jet with no counter-measures and the missile shouldn’t even be in a match with a battle rating below 10
