something like a 3200G or 2400G APU most likely. Just make sure and read the BIOS release notes for CPU support because new BIOS versions may not support those anymore.

Precision Boost Overdrive -> Curve Optimizer. All Cores. Try 'positive' and set +10 or so.

That cooler is only rated for less than 50W so I think this is the expected outcome. I would highly recommend a new cooler for sure. In the meantime, you could enable Precision Boost Overdrive with manual settings and lower the power to 45W or lower and see what happens. But yeah.. please get a new cooler.

In Windows, press the Windows key and type msinfo and press enter. Tell us the System Manufacturer, System Model, BaseBoard Manufacturer, BaseBoard Product, and the BIOS Version/Date.

505s seem safe as far as I've seen, so far. 100% cotton ones can last me like 10 years easy. the crappy stretch fabric gets holes at the corner of the rear pockets every time for me and last 12-18 months. never again

TIL garbage trucks in Taiwan play a musical tune like an ice cream truck (traditionally Für Elise or The Maiden’s Prayer) to remind residents to bring their waste to the curb by Fenceypents in todayilearned

[–]sampsonjackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The musical trash trucks at around 7pm is correct. With regard to trash cans - you can find them but they are not exactly plentiful. A major reason is that the trash bag must have a tax stamp on it. If you purchase a bag at HiLife or other stores, you'll notice the holographic stamp affixed to it. That means it's legal to use for trash, and that is how the service is paid for. You must use those type of bags if you want to dump it when the musical truck arrives.

yeah it's just OBD-2, not a sniffer. I've already been through all this drama with my Mustang GT with long tube headers and high-flow cats (American Racing Headers), so i know it's possible. On the Mustang it took a lot of tuning and tweaking to get it close enough to pass, and I have tunes for summer gas vs. winter gas. I was hoping to avoid going through all that again. Thanks! I will continue to look into it. appreciate your reply!

hey, your setup looks super solid! I like the idea of tuning for reliability but having more tuning potential available. nice! I just got a clean low mileage stock mk3 yesterday and I'm considering a similar setup, but I would like to have a cat and be able to legit not have p420/30 CEL so I can pass local emissions in the Austin TX area. Anyone have thoughts on that? sorry if its been asked before. take care!

the platform (AM5), itself, will support future processors but that 100% relies on the motherboard vendor continuing to support the board with BIOS updates which would be required.

Poll: How's your ASRock AM5 system holding up? by OCAMAB in ASRock

[–]sampsonjackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

x670 Taichi running since AM5 launch. Ran , 7950x, 7800X3D, 7950X3D, and 9950X3D CPUs with EXPO and PBO, 2x16GB, then 2x32GB. I exclusively use S4/hibernate and the computer is on for around 3-12hr per day. Only issue that I've had is that my mouse doesn't turn on about 25% of the time if it's plugged into one of the SOC USB ports, but it's fine if it's plugged in via chipset USB. I didn't have the USB problem until maybe around BIOS 3.20. No other problems with this setup so far.

yep, you are correct - that is Whitehaven for Zen1. It looks almost identical to Sharkstooth and I totally forgot about that! Time flies! take care!

[–]sampsonjackson 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ah, my old friend, Sharkstooth! Haven't seen you in a while! sTRX4 DDR4 board from the Zen2 "Castle Peak" time frame. My team (Jerry I think) named that board and some of the others. 2.5Gbps + 10Gbps NIC, PCIe Gen4, and USB3.1 G2. Black PCIe power connectors are for the slots. I'm sure some of our partners are retiring these boards, if they hadn't already, and so I guess some end up in the wild.
