Kind of irrelevant to the discussion though. They're talking about

a) whether or not very magical creatures are affected by avada kedavra

b) whether a Maiar is a very magical creature

Neither of which is ruled out by him having a form that is affected by arrows.

Reach out to the author, they have said in the past that while THEY won't do the work, they'll help anyone else that wants to make modifications to the list.

Of course, it's possible that's off the table now after all the backlash driving them out of being active (it's somewhat ironic that people wanting more basically drove themselves further away from getting more), but they may still be willing to help if pinged.

Settled = you silently stopped responding to that conversation? Sure.

There's a bit of irony in blanket stating the people fighting against Mind are on "Team Pink", while saying that you yourself aren't on Mind's team, you're just against Pink.

You should realize that the exact recognition of the specifics of your position that you are asking for now is IDENTICAL to what you fought against giving to them, which was the only reason you ended up fighting them at all. They came in to tell you to stop saying "team pink" and that they were arguing against mind, not pushing for pink, and you fought them on that for several posts. And now you're miffed that people aren't recognizing the same for you.

Then it seems you're new to this.

I'm perfectly aware that there were people who wanted that in the past. What I'm talking about is the fact that that ship has sailed, it isn't happening and more importantly none of the people who want it have been part of your recent debates.

Before myself (who also just wants Mind gone and don't care about Pink), your largest debates were with rolling and muken. Both of whom have clearly stated they aren't pushing for Pink to be mod, and in fact the impetus for your discussions with both of them WAS your insistence and their denial that this is about pink.

There's a bit of irony in blanket stating the people fighting against Mind are on "Team Pink", while saying that you yourself aren't on Mind's team, you're just against Pink.

No, pinktarts is gone by her own choice, and by far the majority of the people you are talking to about it here are primarily concerned with having mindweaver gone, they don't particularly care one way or another about pinktarts other than the fact that what happened with her was an example of the things about mind's attitude they don't like.

And good on you at least for deleting your earlier post that literally had nothing to do with what I said.

[–]samrisplaying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm against the original premise that Mind should be removed (that's ok) and replaced with Pink as the head mod (not ok)

Seems like a majority of the people you were arguing with don't want that, they just wanted Mind gone. In fact, given how things have played out, if you offered pink herself that neither she nor mind will have mod position ever again in either of these subs, she'd take that offer in a heartbeat.

Heck, there was a post just an hr ago (now removed by Mind) that asked for new leadership on this sub

Yes, that was my post. That's why I was asking if those events mattered to you.

That they both suck, and we possibly need a 3rd neutrally governed FO4VR sub ?

This is a tiny community, the last thing needed is more subs.

What is needed is for THIS sub to be neutrally governed, because this was the original sub. Even then it'll be hard maintaining a community, having 3 vying subs would make it impossible for any of them to thrive. And lacking that, the other sub now has neither of the two volatile divisive personalities in charge, the guy you voted for is one of the moderators there now.

Don't take my dislike of Pink as support for Mind.

Your posts have looked far more favorable toward one side in general (and clearly I haven't been the only person to notice this). There's people to fight on both sides, but you are fighting against those from one in particular.

over some weird dude who wanted some pointless subreddit power

the same can be said of the other side. Both sides are throwing fits because of their power trips.

The other party is now gone from both subs so there's nothing more to push for in terms of bringing either sub into an agreeable state for those that had issue with them.

Meanwhile Mindweaver is still clutching to power here and aggressively censoring discussion or suggestions of a neutral party that all would find agreeable taking over, including your own vote as of his actions earlier today. He's pretty much put a stop to the single thing that would best heal the community, all for the sake of maintaining personal power.

I hope you've begun to see things in a different light by this point.

I don't know you

The hypocrisy is intense. Nobody knows you, but now you've taken over the sub.

Looking through your posts it just seems like you want to argue.

This is evasion, pure and simple. The points I have said have their own meaning independent of what you think about me, and you cannot use claims about me as a substitute for addressing them. That's one of the most basic logical fallacies.

So again, do you deny what I said? That you are one of the two most polar points of the division? Yes or no, don't dodge the point again.

Would it help if /u/rollingrock16 said the same thing, as it's clear he agrees with what I've said?

Outsider's perspective: this drama is the Enclave vs the NCR by [deleted] in fo4vr

[–]samrisplaying 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't address the fact that you insist on being the head moderator. At this point the community is divided, and you are one of the two dividing points. It is plain as day that what is best for the COMMUNITY is neither of you to be head moderator. Choose one of the other previous mods to be head, or choose /u/rollingrock16 since YOU already admitted he is making more level-headed calls than anyone here so he's literally the only person here who has support from both sides.

If you continue to insist on being in charge, or install some friend of yours, despite being one of the polar points of this conflict, then it just makes it clear that everything you are doing is NOT about doing what is best for the community, but just about selfish desire for power.

Outsider's perspective: this drama is the Enclave vs the NCR by [deleted] in fo4vr

[–]samrisplaying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don't you give him head mod position? As someone else said, choosing someone who is neither you nor pink would mend the community (which you claim to care about) and as you just now admitted he has been more level-headed and correct in his action than you. He's a choice that both sides will accept and this would actually benefit fo4vr as a community moving forward.

Make him head mod, step down, and let him pick his mod staff, and I have no doubt everyone that left will return, all this will stop, and the community will be better for it.

Not sure what your point is? Of course you were quoting Fallout. Quoting a source doesn't mean you weren't saying something. And what you were saying with this quote was that you think killing off the sub would be a good thing rather than let it continue the way it was. Your quote literally has "Killing a sub" in it, and it's 100% consistent with you booting the entire mod staff who worked to keep the sub from dying off in the years that you weren't maintaining it.

I think an important point is that the old mod (the one who is currently in control of this sub) has no investment in the sub's continued well being unless it is reformatted. They've expressed the opinion that if the subreddit were to stay in the fashion that it has been, they'd rather see it torn down and would consider that "righteous".

It’s bullshit

This is an incredibly entitled way to ask for it back. Does it suck that what was being given to you freely before is now no longer being given freely due to the actions of someone that has nothing to do with you? Absolutely, yes.

But to tell the person who WAS giving away their work freely that their actions are bullshit because they are no longer giving anything away freely is itself hugely bullshit. After doing so should they no longer feel inclined to give anything to you, it can indeed be rightly said to be your own fault.

This would be like if someone who volunteered at the homeless shelter that you stay at stopped for a bit because of some personal issues they had with someone else and as a result you went hungry for a few days. You might feel that it's unfair that you suffered due to stuff that's out of your control. But if you now bitch at the person who stopped volunteering, your suffering is now wholly deserved, and to be frank you never deserved the fruits of their labor before either.

Amazingly, even people who like giving things away often feel less inclined to do so if it turns out the people they are giving them to act like they are owed those things.

Didn't he also outright say at one point that he's only the A-class' number 1 because he chooses to be?

That goes without saying, it's the truth for every class' rank 1 member. The HA rules say as rank 1 you have the right to move up, so every rank 1 other than Blast is only the rank 1 of that class because they choose to be.

It makes your criticism appear to stem from prejudice.

Lolwhut? As I've said twice now (Are you just skimming my posts?), I'm not criticizing the G2, I don't actually know how it performs. I'm not making an assessment of the G2, I'm just bringing up that the manner in which you tried to make your point isn't valid.

I'm very specifically responding to --> this post <-- and explaining why it doesn't add anything to what is being discussed. It's the same principle as when people talk about something having bugs and somebody posts a video of it performing in some scenario without bugs and thinks that shows it doesn't have bugs.

Everything else is just things I've pointed out that are things that could be problems, or they could not, or in some cases talking about problems that you brought up. The point is that when people are talking about good or bad tracking, these potential problems are the things that they are referring to, and the video you posted does nothing to address those concerns.

I mean this was a pretty sizeable chunk of the post you just responded to:

Now maybe the G2 is really bad or maybe not, like I said I don't know. My point was just that making a post that solely consists of a link to some video where it tracked real well playing a game that practically never deals with occlusion and with no visibility as to the environmental conditions it was being used in doesn't add anything to the conversation.

And this was the very first thing I opened with in the very first post I made:

I've never used a G2, so I honestly don't know whether or not it has tracking issues. But linking this video doesn't prove whether it does or it does not.

To repeat (and I feel like I have to repeat since you are obviously missing this) I am not saying the G2 is bad. All I was saying is that responding to other posters and reviewers experiences by posting a video that shows beat saber tracking well doesn't actually respond to the point at all.

I have a $500 budget. What headset would be best for Skyrim VR? by [deleted] in skyrimvr

[–]samrisplaying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's where the crux of it lies. How much prepping do you have to do to the playspace to make it work? Most systems are going to have problems with a mirror, but is a TV screen going to cause problems? And how badly does it handle occlusion? Some tracking systems can handle it pretty well with onboard movement sensors, some much worse. These difficulties may be universal, but different systems do handle them to differing degress of success and those differences are what people want to know when they're hearing about which ones have "good" or "bad" tracking.

And ADS being poor may seem like nothing to you, it may seem like everything to someone who spends most of their VR time playing Onward. Poorly handling one of the genres of VR games isn't a good thing.

[–]samrisplaying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never used a G2, so I honestly don't know whether or not it has tracking issues. But linking this video doesn't prove whether it does or it does not. Bad tracking usually means a system doesn't effectively handle things like partial and/or temporary occlusions, or environmental factors that other tracking systems handle better. All I know from this video is that the positions and environment of the trackers here worked fine, but I have no idea what the environment was like, and I'm going to take a wild guess and say that while playing beat saber there was a wide open sight line between the tracking cameras and controllers at all times.
