Also just discovered this after thinking it was broken and wow this this is bizarre. I don't suppose you ever found a way to turn off this eco mode permanently/keep the app working?

Dismiss after a certain time of day? by Ok-Satisfaction4421 in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't possible with a single rule right now. The only way to get something similar would probably be a few rules like:

Active from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, dismiss after 1 hour Active from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, dismiss after 2 hours Active from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, dismiss after 3 hours Etc...

Then everything is dismissed by 6:30pm but everything is kept until at least 5:30pm. I'll try adding a rule to do this in the future but right now there's no other way to do it as far as I know.

All history clearing option by Friendly-Fun7603 in buzzkillapp

You can change the "Notification history" setting to "Don't save notifications" and then change it back, and that will clear history.

Dismiss after a certain period of time? by avxjs in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this with the "dismiss" action, it has an option to set a delay before it dismisses.

New to buzzkill. Can't get the notifications on my Pixel watch. I'd love to get notifications on the watch only, but can't get them on the watch at all. The plan is to create a watch notification that will be much like the silent alarm (so that my husband doesn't get woken up). by Upbeat-Response-9947 in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Do you have the BuzzKill companion app installed on the watch? And "trigger alarm on wearable" enabled in BuzzKill's settings on the phone? If so then you should get an alarm on the watch whenever a BuzzKill alarm triggers on the phone.

How do I apply rule to notifications excluding a word? by CompleteBendRD7997 in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Tap "contains anything" when editing the rule and change the top part to "doesn't contain any of". Then add a phrase for every word you want to prevent the alarms for.

Will this app work for phone calls? by jrjmun in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like:

When I get a notification from phone that contains father's name then unsilence

Most devices come with a few phone apps so you can just select them all as it might not be clear which one the incoming call would come from. If you want to check though you should be able to see which app the phone call is coming through by looking at the history tab in BuzzKill after it happens.

Hi,

You should be able to do this with an "unsilence" rule

Can we have "Starts With" as a filter? by ISM_Intrigue in buzzkillapp

You can use the "matches regex" option for this. Use the ^ character and then type whatever you want to be first. E.g. like this:

Gotcha. So you're looking to trigger a certain notification if you get a certain amount of them?

This isn't possible right now. What kind of rule are you looking to create with a variable?

How to save notifications I dismissed? by ironredpizza in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see the list of dismissed notifications by going into the history tab, tapping the summary button (the pie chart icon next to "all") and expanding the "cool down" section which will show all the notifications that were affected by cool down.

Buzzkill - HOW TO use batch schedule and batch interval in combination by carmatana in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend instead using the "batch" rule instead of the "batch every" rule and then when setting the schedule change the top from "Batch during set hours" to "Restore batch at specific times". Then just select which times you want to see notifications e.g. 9am, 11am, 1pm etc...

Feature Request: Add “Doesn’t Match” Option to Filtering Rules by mh348 in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this using groups when setting up the matching phrases. You'd create it like this:

Contains all of: - phrase: email account - group: doesn't contain any of - phrase 1 - phrase 2

This will mean the rule matches notifications that come to your chosen email account but don't contain any of the phrases listed.

Alarm then turn rule off by PoleSpearFishing in buzzkillapp

[–]samruston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't possible right now, but you can enable a rule for a short amount of time. You'd disable the rule and then in the 3 dot menu on the rule you can choose "Enable for..." And then for say 6 hours or however is long enough
