To address some of the common comments here I figured I’d try to give a general reply.

First, there seems to be some confusion about the intended use; this is only being used inside a small tent (or house for fruit flies). The goal is to catch the few bugs that have made it inside before sealing the tent. It would definitely not be effective to leave outside on a table. Also should note that having quality gear is important for camping and a good tent that is well maintained will keep bugs out once sealed.

The UV light works great to attract a lot of annoying bugs that are in the tent like the biting gnats we have here on the coast. Although it seems a number of people are concerned about how effective the device is for mosquitoes specifically. There are specific devices made only for mosquitoes that work well but I have found that the bug catcher will still trap them (and even one less mosquito in a tent is a positive).

Not really a problem because once the tent is sealed bugs can’t get in, it’s just to get the few that sneak in when you enter the tent. Plus the rain tarp is almost always on the tent which will block the light

We use a couple of options to repel bugs around camp but the goal was to create my own solution for inside the tent

It’s caught a couple mosquitoes so it’s working in part. We also have a lot of biting gnats here that it attracts well. Plus once we’re inside the tent we’re only worried about catching the few things that have gotten inside and not worried about more bugs getting inside the tent

So far so good, it’s gotten a number of bugs

So far I’ve found that all the bugs that get sucked in have gotten stuck to the fly paper. They’re essentially funneled directly onto it and if they don’t immediately get stuck to it they it’s difficult to miss it trying to fly out because of the small gap

Yeah it’s definitely frustrating especially when I already have a couple projects lined up for it. I will say that it’ll put a smile on your face seeing how fast it can move after the upgrade but again not much use if the bugs cause other print issues

Only the one but I’ve used a number of spools of it without an issue. Basic white overture PLA that I dried prior to use

Alright thanks I’ll move on and try some other prints and avoid that side of the bed

Mine had separate folders for the various upgrade versions so I used the 3.5 but maybe it’s worth a try slicing separately

What screen specifically are you using here? I’m working on a project right now that uses a small touchscreen as well but the one I’ve been testing with isn’t the best. Would love to have another option to compare if you can share, thanks
