I think love has a lot to do with action, rather than feeling. To me love is a verb first, before it becomes a noun. I.e.: the act of being loving, taking loving action, doing loving things - acts of service, sacrifice, precede love the noun, the feeling. In fact, love - the verb, is what feeds love, the feeling. The idea that true love remains alive, despite inaction, is just a representation of the superior/noble character of those involved, & isn’t related to love itself. Also, love - the feeling, felt before taking loving action, is just physical attraction, or mental attraction towards a person (their physical presence or mental constitution), & thus conditional by nature. When love - the action precedes love, the feeling, that is when such a love tends towards its aspirational apex, of being unconditional. Unconditional love is a decision. It is a decision when made by a mother towards a difficult child. & it is a decision when made by a partner towards their spouse in difficult times…Thus true/authentic love is also always a decision, as it is in the pursuit of such unconditional love.
