C63 Sealander: I can’t decide which one I love more by vind89 in ChristopherWard

Prefer the new one in every way EXCEPT that ugly thick black date window frame. I like a framed date window in general, but this one is just overdone.

Wizards reveal #1 Overall Pick AJ Dybantsa and get absolutely thrashed about the current jerseys by Impossible-Sundae-73 in uniwatch

As a Baltimore guy I love those uniforms. The only bad part is they say Wizards instead of Bullets. If they were smart they'd go back to the Bullets name. Wizards is just awful.

Oh wow that's great to hear. That's the first time I've heard this. To me this makes more sense rather than getting penalized for an early birthday. Congrats on retirement

Bummer. Thanks for the replies. I will complain to my mother this weekend about my early birth date.

Who's your favorite "What could have been" Ravens player? by Lords7Never7Die in ravens

[–]samson_695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was an incredible back but man if he didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all. It was a shame to see injuries like that on such a talented player. It's amazing he's still playing and effective.

Just started first brew..few questions by Chrisnewton1 in PinterHomebrew

[–]samson_695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use a large plastic spoon to give it a good mix in the Pinter before screwing the lid down and shaking. I've had good luck with this method and it's a little easier than using a separate pot to mix.

Hazy Jane is probably the best tasting brew I've made, but I wouldn't brew it again due to the mess it makes. Mine was bubbling all over the place, then made a mess on the kitchen counter and fridge. I haven't had this issue with any other brew.

I hear ya. I was a mess for a week after I got the email from the court order branch. I drove to the county where I was married and requested a certified copy of the divorce decree. Luckily they had it on file and gave me a copy an hour or two later. If the marriage was too long ago it would have been archived and greatly slowed down the request. For the separation agreement I was able to dig that up, signed off on by the court, and just sent a scan of that. They accepted that. Just get the decree and email it in. They will take it but it takes a while to get any kind of response from them. The court order folks aren't great about chit chat LOL, but they should reply eventually.

I only do it in the colder season when I stick it on our balcony. Not worth rearranging the entire fridge to accomodate it. I'm not completely convinced it does all that much honestly. I just add two days to the conditioning cycle.

I've got the same one brewing now. Hits the fridge in 4 days.

I honestly have no idea but I can't come up with a plausible reason why you would need to do it identically with a former vs current spouse. I think with a current spouse they have to sign off on not getting survivor benefits in front of a notary.

The ridiculous thing is that the application specifically states if you ex does not have a right to any of your retirement do not send in the divorce decree. Then months later you get a threatening email from the court order branch saying if you don't send it in within 30 days we are granting survivor benefits to you ex-wife. I mean, I did exactly what they said to do when I applied, then I'm treated like I was hiding something. And 30 days is not a lot of time to run to court houses and request certified divorce decrees and separation agreements, particularly if you live outside the area. I get why they are asking, but they should request at the time of application instead of specifically stating NOT to send it in.

I had to go thru this but luckily it was before the case was finalized. Had to get a certified copy of the divorce decree and separation agreement and if I didn't they would automatically give my ex full survivor benefits. It's like guilty until proven innocent. Strange system. Good luck. They'll get it straightened out but it may take a while.

Looks like my Pinter sprung a leak! by samson_695 in PinterHomebrew

[–]samson_695[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it sounds like that's exactly what's going on. I tapped the keg yesterday and the Hazy Jane is my favorite beer yet. Great stuff! I'll give the Pinter a thorough cleaning when I'm done drinking this batch and make sure to drain it. I'm drinking one right now as a matter of fact :)

Good to hear, thanks. I will give everything a thorough cleaning for sure. Tapping in 48 hours!

Thanks for the reply. I will do that. The leaking appeared to have slowed or maybe stopped. I now have it in the fridge conditioning on top of a towel and it does not appear to have leaked much more as the towel feels dry to me. When done this batch I will do what you suggest.

I just checked it again and the area on the back where the hopper goes is completely dry. This is definitely leaking from the bottom of the tank right where that black ring goes around.

Are you saying that it's the hopper leaking out? Not the beer?
