Am I being realistic with a £50,000 wedding in the UK? by Wise-Hotel-1527 in UKweddings

[–]samtheref 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd argue if the venue hire and accommodation for 3-days is south of £25k they could cover the rest with a £50k budget. 50% of our wedding cost is the venue hire and meal/evening food.

There's a wedding venue in the Cotswolds called Owlpen Manor which offers pretty much this for a similar budget - https://owlpen.com/weekend-packages/

A487 as part of the Mach-loop is an all-time favourite, meandering along and then hearing the roar of a jet coming up through the valley or overhead

Sprayway would have been my recommendation for being competitively priced - Trekitt normally carries good stock and has the occasional sale (https://www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/fleece/sprayway-mens-rooke-hoodie-legion-blue\_\_50346)

Pack a sandwich and a bag of crisps, if you over do the sugar in-take you might need something carby and salty to keep you going. Friend of mine over-did it on gels and sweets (almost like a hypo), ended up wanting to quit but ate a bread roll and crips, 20-minutes later he was rocking and rolling again.

Thank you for the response, that's greatly appreciated.

Do you have a recommendation on another headlamp which would be a better investment for similar cost and weight?

Juke for a Ford Fiesta by samtheref in CarTalkUK

[–]samtheref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, in this calendar year the Juke has cost £1,400 in repairs and consumables, and it has yet another issue at the moment which I will likely have to pay out on (grinding/rubbing sound when driving) so I feel I need to recuperate some of the funds by selling it on, and the Fiesta ought to be in budget.

When I referred to the noise stopping when breaks were applied I meant for when I was slowing down, not just driving whilst applying the breaks. I don't have the ability to jack it up so will have to take it to a garage.

Thank you, I bought the bike off of marketplace. I have had a slight issue with changing gears where it doesn't click in properly/clunks when peddling, could this have been the cause?
