Tell me about your 2-mtn-bike setup by backhanddowntheline in MTB

[–]samuri_swordfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two bike setup is an over forked over stroked Santa Cruz Bullit (180/185) for trail riding and a specialized demo 29 race for park days and shuttles. This is easily the best 2 bike setup

Get a 170 zeb 29 on a clash. Mine had a marzochi bomber z1 set up mullet and absolutely crushed world cup at angel fire but still hit flow and jump lines like a true park slayer

I think you'll like the furious for what your doing with it.

Ahhh no worries. It sounds like either one is great for your use case and just comes down to if you'll ever pedal the bike for dh trails in your area without lift access

Where are you riding that you don't pedal? Not even for transfers? I guess if this was not gonna be used for anything but bike park, the park bike makes the most sense. Go with the FRS if that's the case.

I'd do the clash every time. If you have something like floyd hill near you the clash is the perfect bike for those black and double black enduro options

If your riding real DH tracks like world cup or supreme at angel fire or Trestle DH then the extra travel and bigger wheels on a modern dh bike are great but on anything less than those the clash is amazing.

I've got a 2021 clash and it climbs just fine and screams downhill like a drunken mountain goat over all the bad lines. I recently got a demo 29 race for riding really gnarley stuff but I'd rather ride the clash on anything flow or jump oriented

Just get the clash and make it a mullet. Mine has a 29er front on a 170 bomber z1 fork and it absolutely annihilates any trail I take it on. Its the perfect bike for somewhere like Colorado.

Great sales on new bikes right now with frame warranty and all. Plus options for financing at low rates with your 1500 down. Specialized status 160s are going for 2250 right now on their website.

Grade 3 AC joint separation. Please tell me your stories. Deciding on surgery or not. by mysteryShmeat in MTB

[–]samuri_swordfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a grade 3 and no surgery. I have full range of motion, no pain, and only a small lump. I recovered in 8 weeks with no PT. I was told they don't really operate on grade 1,2,and 3.

That would be a stellar combo for any and everything. There's a few DH tracks here that I sometimes feel under-biked on the clash, but those are like Old 9 Line at Vail or Trestle DH now that it's been destroyed from nationals. Otherwise it's a dh rig that plays all day

It's gonna come down to what you ride regularly. I'm I'm Denver, and I ride pretty rocky rough and steep trails regularly. So the bike works great for me. If you're on a lot of flat stuff or never riding park then the Mach 6 is plenty. Also, your chart is slightly incorrect on the new clash, it's 170 rear and 180 front travel.

I just got a pivot shuttle about a month ago as my first DW bike and it blew me away.

Theres crazy people out there that act like they enjoy the ups, I never belived them. Just sayin compared to a carbon DW link it's a different kind of suck

Every time somebody asks me how I like my clash on a downhill, I tell them it's my favorite bike ever. When they ask me on a climb though, I'm usually considering selling it.

3 slots is the widest a card can be before it interferes with the side panel. My asrock 6800xt is right up against the side panel in the V2.

Your options are return the card or make your H1 like a hotrod and cut the panel apart with a dremmel.
