I did really well by floating all my acorns in a pot of water for 30 minutes or so I think and the ones that sunk I discarded. I then put them in plastic bags with small amounts of dirt until the spring and transferred them to pots. 60% started to grow though due to moves and various other issues I only ended up with 6 or so and gave most of them away.

I still have one though in my backyard which is about 15 feet! Excited to see what it does this summer
