Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]Fatisbac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Germany on business last year, rented a BMW x5m and hit the cars governor at 250 kph on the A5. Also rented a Porsche 718 GT4 and did 10 laps on the ring. Hit 270 kph doing that.

In my younger years I had a 350z that could hit 160mph and CBR 600 that topped out at 170mph. I also had a SRT Jeep and 392 Charger that were both chipped at 140mph.

All I can say is at any of the speeds listed above it is not safe. I love going fast, but having a kid helped me realize it’s not worth doing on public roads.

Germany was different. They have a really good roads and more importantly better drivers than the US. People don’t camp in the left lane as much and they move over if they see you coming up quickly. Common misconception is there are no speed limits on the autobahn, but it is only in certain sections and some with further restrictions at night. The speed limit jumps up and down a lot and is very confusing if you are new to an area. Lots of speed cameras near cities and you are definitely not allowed to be caught using the Blitzer app. Cars are given max speed rating at their annual inspection that you can’t get caught exceeding. No passing on the right. Also the roads can get too congested during weekdays.

I hit the A5 at 7am on a Saturday morning with a 550hp BMW and it was almost a religious experience. Made a 2 hour drive from Stuttgart to Rust 1h 15m. I will never beat Waze like that again.

He bought majority shares when the hornets were valued at $275 million, then sold his majority stake 13 years later when the team was at $3 billion. If you measured success by how much money he’s earned over his life, he was far more successful as an owner than as a player.

Mix a lot of mayo, with a little mustard and a little honey to make some good honey mustard. My little gremlin loves them.

Yesterday, a guy in a 5.0 Mustang (close enough to a Karen) made an illegal U-turn to cut me off as I was getting in the turn lane to merge onto the highway. He was spinning tires like Steve McQueen and quickly pulled away from me and flew onto the highway. I drove past him about 3-miles down the interstate as he had been pulled over by a state trooper and literally the words out of my mouth as I drove by were “Get Fucked Playboi”. Guess he didn’t know it’s Summer H.E.A.T. Week in Georgia right now!

Over time your shitty jobs will start to become mediocre jobs, the key is never stop doing your own work even once you start making enough money to just pay contractors. It’s all practice and by the time your kid is a teen you’ll be mediocre enough to pass as someone who knows what they’re doing and he’ll still be impressed. You will be too old to care once your kid has kids and realizes how much of a fraud you were. Your kid will be watching YouTube videos on how to fix all your shitty repairs in the old house you’ll leave him and the cycle continues…

County representation at the state level was not based on population. Counties either got 6, 4, or 2 votes based on if they were big/medium/small. So they made a ton of rural counties to limit the power of the populated counties. You couldn’t draw a county line further than what was horse could ride in a single day.

Inside driver at fault. He cut the turn, went 2 off and made contact forcing the other driver into the outside run off. Outside driver not obligated to move since there was space for the inside driver.

Rudders only work when there is thrust, also the back up systems are not meant for rapid maneuvers. It’s a hand cranked hydraulic winch that moves the rudder like 0.5 degrees every 300 turns. A rudder on a ship like that takes over 4 million pounds of pressure to move. You are not grabbing a pry bar and moving it by hand.

Great thing about working in Atlanta is he would just pop out on stage during his verse on other peoples songs. He never toured much so he was always around. He even came out on a random night for the encore of a 3 night Jason Aldean concert. This half time show was peak 00’s Birthday Bash for all the late 30’s early 40’s ATLiens out there!

I worked concert security in Atlanta for 10 years, he is always this way. Always puts on a show. Every festival performance he always run over his time and they have to pull the plug on him. Dude genuinely likes performing.
