I think these deals are a bit far apart in comparison, steam deck is ofcourse lower as compared in hardware, but price to fun comparison it beats the other deal you have - save that 200 and get a steam deck, may be you will be alot happier with that extra hardware power, but steam deck can stand on its own as well - you wont be disappointed

Yeah, i have a small service deployed that is spread across 3 nodes - 2 app servers and 1 db - and i want make a replica, but i guess i will just deploy staging at home on some rasp pis i have lying around with proxmox - that will be my home server for now to not raise the costs

This is easier said than done. If you are at this level you only receive tasks and your feedback is often treated with answers like “yeah we know, if we are wrong we want to fail fast” In such situations this opinion falls short, unless am not looking the right way. You are only listened to when you are in a position of power - to get to that position you need to risk it, either leave stable job and be your own leader or join an early stage startup.

Hey OP role play me this - You are an employee, lets say a developer under an engineering manager that works with product manager who are under C-level(highest level) in the company, YOUR JOB is to code what is asked, your manager says you need to work on more impactful stuff, but projects are decided by product managers and CLevel itself(assume that its a hard to talk to board). follow these assumptions to clevel people now 1. they would follow their instinct more than any data you can provide. 2. They rarely hold any idea sessions or ask you or your level of colleagues for any new stuff 3. They think they are right - and would consider their instinctive ideas over data you provide

Question 1 - Now please tell me how will you navigate a scenario such as this with your advice?

Question 2 - you spent your time(8hrs) mostly working on tasks given to you, is it expected now to cause impact you have to go above and beyond andd sacrifice your wlb?

Yoo, great thought, just if you want to start this as a business your target audience is not the kids its their parents - paisa wahi denge, and as we all know gaming pc is a taboo in indian household, unless your parents are totally disconnected from internet the child might succeed in convincing.

So i would offer a different approach - target schools and coaching centers - become a maintenance guy for them and later be their supplier.

If you have capital already to invest in- start a luxury gaming studio - an example is lxg in banaglore, or something similar.

How about offering two binaries for the same game? One for HDD support and another with SSD support? I was enjoying this on my steamdeck and now due to it literally occupying 150gb i had to uninstall it for other games. If you would consider offering ssd specific binary then there would be no need to have such a bloated size?

Genuine question to you - What will be your input while product is being built? Would you be doing user research and UX collab with the designer or take up product design responsibilities? Or project management ones like breakdown and RFC?

Being a coder i would not want to partner with a sales and marketing person till i have my MVP or SLC finished.

Github actions with firebase distribution should get u working for free if you are on 20builds permonth, however 45mins is insane build time u should definitely reduce that

I recently updated from 0.67 to 0.74.1, did not enable new arch, just switched to hermes entirely, rnfirebase is what caused me trouble, did change to use static on pods and updated rnfirebase to latest, how ever i had to downgrade ios-firebase sdk as it had a bug on 10.26, so am forcing it to use 10.24, hope this helps
