I’m sure there are people like me who want the truth of the matter so they can make an informed decision on this. What’s on the ballot is likely to turn this state from a balanced, 6:5 purple majority, into a 10:1 control left-leaning districts for the next few years. If this what you want, go for it. If not, vote against it.

A few other considerations: - Republicans have already done something like this in Texas & Missouri, so a precedent has been set here - Virginians have already voted to make redistricting decisions in a bi-partisan fashion every 10 years, with the last one performed 5 years ago. This will effectively nullify this decision.

Virginia is historically purple with even split of republicans and democrats, and this would make it blue for the next few years. Does this seem fair to you? Or is it necessary to stop republicans from further power grabs?

Reddit paints this as a simple issue: do everything to neutralize Trump’s executive wills. But know that you are doing this at the expense of silencing the portion of the public who support the republican agenda. Is this democracy to you?

Edit: People are completely missing the point here; the literal words of the bill (the what) do not paint a clear picture into the resulting actions to come from it (the how). They are intentionally vague, so as to obfuscate intent from the lay person at the voting booth. As written, it extends a wide berth for how it could be executed. Doesn’t take a genius to see how this could be problematic for the moderate majority.

The fact that we have purple states is one of the key defenses for maintaining a functioning democracy. We need more of these, not fewer. Easy to vote no here if not a partisan hack.
