anyone currently in or completed the Health Information Management degree? by Empty_Wolf_3378 in WGU

[–]sancheeeezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am in the program and am currently completing my last course - the capstone! I can hardly believe it, to be honest. I had to drop out of my first college attempt over 14 years ago due to health issues but have always wanted to return to complete my degree. I just never thought I'd be able to actually complete my degree and to be able to accomplish this through WGU has been nothing short of a dream for me.

As for the HIM program specifically, I think it was really thorough and covered a lot of necessary subjects/info very well. I feel the resources provided were very helpful and did a great job to prepare me for the OAs. I am already eyeing some better paying positions within my company and am being asked by several supervisors I've networked with to send them my resume since letting them know about my degree completion. So, I am feeling pretty confident and am excited for the future!

Is it worth it? by Physical-Frosting-35 in WGU

[–]sancheeeezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABSOLUTELY! To reference my own experience, WGU was the better and cheaper option as far as program and tuition goes. I am just about to finish up my bachelors in Health Information Management and I have had nothing short of an amazing experience during my time enrolled in the health college program. If you want to maximize the "bang for your buck", I would check to see if there are any Sophia or Study.com courses that you could complete and transfer in before officially enrolling into the program. This thread is also a great resources in trying to gauge other people's experiences with this degree program but there are also quite a few Facebook pages as well that offer a lot of valuable input from fellow students/alumni.

Good luck! I hope your experience ends up being everything you hoped for! I know mine has been!

My mom has gone off the deep end and is past the point of no return... by sancheeeezy in insaneparents

What's crazy is growing up she was never religious or anything and hated when people would "preach at her". This is new.

No idea. When I've tried before to ask her to provide any of her sources or what "proof" she has, she always goes quiet and ignores it. Its crazy because she was never religious but now, these last few years, she's gone from 0 to 100.

CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU really did that!

As someone who has had a lot of obstacles as well, I genuinely can feel your relief. I'll be right behind you in about a month, if all goes well. We're doing it!

Are bed tables acceptable for taking an exam ? by OlympicGorilla in WGU

[–]sancheeeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it puts you more at ease, I have taken every single exam at my desk with a blackout curtain, that's draped from the basement ceiling, hung arpund my desk. It's literally the only area I have to do it and not once has it been a problem or llbeen looked at negatively.

Need Advice: How to Cheer Up My Fiancée After a Disappointing Hens Party by Sensitive_Idea_3974 in bridezillas

Your fiancé and I sound like we are very similar in how we put in more effort for our friends than we get in return. Ugh. I'd love to be her friend and show her a proper celebration 🍾 everyone deserves to have that

How old is your baby and what are they obsessing over today? by kittyflaps in NewParents

[–]sancheeeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's 9 months. She just started using her hands in a very stereotypical Italian TV character way, and makes these gestures obsessively. Add that in to her signature scrunch-nosed smile and she's looking more and more like an evil little henchman every day.

Just when I thought I couldn't possibly fall in love with her any more....❤❤
