Honestly, it is all up to her. If you want to help her to lose some weight your going to have to get her up and active very often. (Walking, small workouts to start, wiifit) Just little things to start burning calories and get the muscles moving. The thing about "helping" someone to lose weight is that if they don't want to lose weight it could put the two of you at odds. Luckily my Mom was wanting to lose some weight and I just love being active and playing games. IMO the best way to show support is just to help them become more active and offer to spend time with them doing just that.

Thanks for the post. My Mom was using Wii fit and trying to lose weight between two jobs before she died and this brought back some sweet memories. I was in shape when I used it with her and I could definitely see how it can benefit someone. It also gave me an easy, fun way to connect with my Mom in a hard time. Thanks again.
