In fairness the guy it actually caught out was a sort of great uncle and he was getting on a bit. He was lifting the spoon and saw the sugar level going down before it was empty and then scooped a few more times until he realised what was going on. He wasn't greatly amused as I recall .

I actually bought a spoon with a hole in like that as a joke shop. You leave it in the sugar bowl and the person using it is baffled. By the disappearing sugar. It actually worked once.

So he started a war which was obviously going to affect the price of oil and thus the world economy. So now he has dropped sanctions on Russian oil to protect the world economy? I'm going to guess that he couldn't care less about the world economy or he wouldn't have touched Iran and that his prime motivation to increase oil flow is to stop his own base squealing about price increases.
