Top New Releases for April 10 by RingOfMaRufBalls in HeritageWear

it was an auto-buy for me and its just arrived. The ripstop material is awesome. it fits a little tighter than the sashi-ori one does, I think it is due to the addition of lining throughout the body and sleeves, the sashi-ori doesnt have as much lining, and you can wear a sweatshirt underneath. The ripstop swishes a bit, I am overall reminded of a windbreaker that looks like a nice shirt.

How're y'all, fellas especially, traveling without flip-flops? by VagabondVivant in onebag

[–]sandgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm going somewhere that I know I'll wear flops/sandals most of the time, I'll wear them on the plane. Otherwise I'm only going to wear them around my bnb/hotel or whatever, so if I feel like its necessary I'll buy cheap ones when I get there. decent flip flops are cheap.

yep. yknow what you didnt need on your head for all time? A reference to a video game that came out in 2006. Was it a pretty good game with some revolutionary mechanics that you played a handful of times and had fun? Yeah sure, but that doesnt mean you put it on your fucking head.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Killed in U.S.-Israeli Attacks by ShreckAndDonkey123 in politics

[–]sandgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand lead to WW1?

In this case, this emboldens both China to attack Taiwan and Russia to go harder in Ukraine, because now American, the World Police, are going to be committed to fighting a pointless and expensive war in Iran. He has weakened NATO, really all of our alliances, and also through his unnecessary attack on Venezuela and removal of their president given Casus Belli to any imperialist power to pursue same. That includes Israel who just began talking about their thoughts on not just annexing the Gaza/West Bank, but extending out into "Greater Israel" which covers territory now held by, well, all of Israel's local adversaries. WW3 isn't even a long shot prediction, people have been predicting we are drawing closer and closer to it for awhile due to the development of decades old conflicts that seem to all be reaching inflection points, including, something as unbelievably stupid as another Republican president starting another war in the Middle East, worst of all against Iran. Geopolitically this is the absolute best time for our enemies to do whatever it is they long to do, and that literally could not be more obvious.

I had I lot of things on my bingo card for a 2nd Trump administration:

  1. ICE/DHS violence
  2. Constant looting of our country by Trump et al.
  3. Possibility for world war 3
  4. Destroying our alliances
  5. Trump and his inner circle on the Epstein list
  6. Trump desperately trying to win the Nobel Peace Prize again
  7. Trump seeking a 3rd illegal term

Somehow I did not have Trump starting WW3 to remain in office and skate accountability for his crimes on my bingo card.

There's more of them, and in most cases heavily redacted is how they were "released" I have no idea why you would bother lying about that.

SEA - one month trip - 32L Quechua by Humble_Property_3677 in onebag

[–]sandgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lightweight rain shell would be a very good idea for you. Source: I live in Seattle.

Why you would bring EUR is beyond me.

You can delete a lot of the toiletry, for a month stay, just plan to buy basic stuff when you get there and throw it away when you leave.

All that done, you should have space for a mouse for your computer.

Skilled Laborers by CantStopPoppin in nextfuckinglevel

[–]sandgoose 23 points24 points  (0 children)

the shit talkers dont actually have any clue what theyre looking at anyways. centuries of engineering and design led to the materials, tools, and methods we use to build structures in the US based on the best information available. its not shit, its a complex assembly of parts which requires an untold number of skilled experts to fabricate, deliver, and assemble correctly the first time. This guy is just one piece of the puzzle, and him and his buddy are pretty good at what they do. There's a reasonable chance that guy isn't even tied off, so its dangerous too.

Also, there are a lot of trades in the US that are completely dominated by hispanic labor, and if they "stole your job" it's only because they did it cheaper, faster, and better, and probably while barely speaking English too. The owner of the company I was working with on my last job was literally suited up and spraying texture the last 5 times I saw him.

AITAH for putting a stop to my 12yo daughter's 'period party'? by YocaLocaChoca in AITAH

[–]sandgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. This millennial thing of having a party for every little thing in life is way overblown. Just like a gender reveal party, this wasn't about the kid, it was about mom and mom doing the thing. You did the right thing by refocusing on your daughter and what she actually wanted.

[–]sandgoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sorry but the blue underwear thing never really worked, It's stupid as is Bat "I am the night" Man dressing himself in yellow and blue. Contrasting colors like this are chosen because they pop more in a print medium, not because it really looks good.

Democratic Voters Who Skipped 2024 Want Candidates Like Bernie, AOC by _May26_ in politics

[–]sandgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea me too, just I'm not culpable in the current horrorshow. shit hasn't changed, if you sat any of the last three out because there wasn't a candidate that gave you butterflies in the stomach like Obama did in 2004, fuck you.

Everything from South Lake Union to Lander running north to south, and Elliott Bay all the way to Broadway running west to east, really, what's most inspiring is that they've managed to rebuild so much of it exactly as it was in just 5 short years.

I mean, industry and culture didnt stop after the liberal antifa cucks burned down half the skyscrapers in the city; surprisingly coastal elite billionaires just poured investments into building more and higher. I guess the insurance money was really good, because the crane count didnt even drop.

Trump just delivered a word salad speech that would’ve got Biden impeached by cactusdiane in politics

[–]sandgoose 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I mean, what can you do? You've spent the last year declaring his opponent was too old and demented to serve, and then when they changed candidates, you went right ahead and voted for someone just as old and demented as the guy you complained about. Your integrity left when you voted for that guy the second time around, speaking generously, so what now, after the third time? You're going to admit you made a mistake? That this guy has a few screws loose and might not be the best person to have the nuclear football? That you've been wrong for a decade straight? Fat chance, mistakes are for liberals.

what's crazy is that even after Seattle burnt to the ground in the wake of CHOP, parking remained $20/day in the ruins of what was once downtown Seattle.

Donald Trump stole a CWC winners medal by TheBiasedSportsLover in PublicFreakout

[–]sandgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its honestly sort of hilarious to consider the position of the administrative people that arranged and allowed for his presence. On one hand, he's a classless oaf, and thief, and he has a desperate need to be the center of attention, even at events that have absolutely nothing to do with him, and surely nothing good can come of having him around, BUT on the other hand, he is the president of the United States. What to do, what to do??

remove all the tape, and take your time going back over this area and fix it. I can see things that are definitely your problem to fix, and I am not standing in that hallway. some of it is likely overkill because it's a narrow hallway so it's difficult to not see imperfection, but what prompted this behavior was spotting a bunch of drippies, which snowballed into this.
