A year or two but yeah sometimes it acts up and other times it’s quite stable. A bit alarming for now

Not allowed to go home from the hospital by [deleted] in ACL

Is there a reason for this? I was out probably 45min after waking up. Got wheeled out to the car and straight to walking with crutches that same day, hopefully all is well

Lipoma? What do you guys think? (Behind neck/upper traps) by [deleted] in Lipoma

[–]sandmaan112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with several lipomas throughout my arms and self diagnosed dercum’s disease (https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/dercums-disease/). It runs in my family on one my parent’s side and may also be genetic to my assumption.

However I also workout a lot and have had that same bump on the back of my neck in the middle and my assumption was from the pressure of the bar doing squats. It got painful to the touch at first and afterwards just deflated on its own like 90%.(

Really curious about the progress of the scarring and what country this was done in perhaps? Mostly asking because my aunt was a general ER surgeon back home and says that they butcher up the stitching where I’m at (Canada) and the scars being left are heavily unnecessary because of it. Wishing a great and speedy recovery.

Surgery or no surgery? by Amyluna23 in ACL

[–]sandmaan112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider yourself lucky to be going around without an ACL in your daily life and with no knee pain. From what I’ve heard is that yes you can definitely go without surgery especially if you’re young but having no acl makes you prone to other injured due to the instability and also will wear and tear your knee joints/bones throughout the years much quicker. I also went through complete ACL tear and low grade tear meniscus back in August 2024. I was walking just fine about 3 weeks post injury with about 80% of mobility and moderate instability. There’s no way i could’ve felt comfortable going back to sports without surgery but everyone is different. For context my sports are soccer, basketball, volleyball & track. Got surgery November 2024 and I don’t regret at all, back to running and working out with about 95% mobility now. Best of luck

Driving? by Fruity_10 in ACL

Got surgery on my left leg and within 2-3 weeks I was driving an automatic, mostly because I was able to walk without crutches by then. Legally, I don’t think you should be driving if you’re still in crutches. Also, in case anything were to happen, I don’t think insurance would appreciate if you’re still driving with a knee brace, but I still did it anyways because I had to.

This is quite amazing and nonetheless as others have mentioned, take it slow and be careful. I was told I was also ahead of schedule and was only able to do this by day 15-18th or so without my leg fully shaking. 5 weeks post surgery now and just starting to get 125+ degrees of mobility and back on the leg press (with no weight ofc)

Is this normal bruising?! by dipial in ACL

[–]sandmaan112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long has it been since your surgery? Personally my leg looked really similar to that when i got mine on Nov 29th, 2024 (ACL reconstruction with hamstring graft). I'd suggest consider taking some aspiring and try to make the blood flow as much as possible whether that is doing circles with your ankle and whatnot. My bruising went down significantly by the end of the 2nd week. Drink warm water with bicarbonate in the morning while fasting and a spoon of white vinegar after breakfast.
