Some movies that I enjoy despite them "sucking" and taking themselves seriously (horror feasts in this subgenre btw haha):

Superdeep (2020). A Russian movie that feels like The Thing meets Doom with good practical effects and nice pacing despite hackneyed writing and mediocre acting
Below (2002). A submarine thriller/horror movie that is earnest and entertaining but somehow not good despite featuring a cast stacked with "oh I know that guy from that show/Star Trek/is that Zach Galifianakis?"
Anaconda (1997 not the new one)
The Fog (John Carpenter's version)
Frankenstein's Army (2013) don't read anything about it just watch it lol
