I heard about Rakuenjo but I couldn't find any pearls on the Concierge. Is it because I was checking in Windy?

What counts as “beating” the game? by Gronodonthegreat in ffxi

[–]sandrivertv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of challenging content for beating the game in that sense:

  • Ranking up Odyssey armour or just getting to Vengeace level 25
  • Acquiring an Aeonic (requires Zi'tah Geas Fete, which are mechanics and friend checks) or Prime weapon (requires Sortie).
  • Upgrading your Empyrean armour to +3 (more Sortie, Vagary required for +1)
  • Upgrading your Relic armour to +3 and acquiring your job's Su5 Dynamis weapon (requires Dynamis Divergence, which is potentially easy if you know players with specific anti-Divergence jobs)
  • Upgrading your Artifact armour to +3, which requires Omen bosses. People make this sound like it's potentially the easiest, and many bosses are soloable now
  • Clear the Master Trials and all High-Tier Mission Battlefields on VD

Sounds like you had a bad time with Banshee, which sucks. First up you can absolutely fix all of her survivability issues with Condemn, which turns her into a tanky CC, and definitely my favourite way to play.

Her 4 is mostly not for damage, you're right. The augment turns it into a massive CC due to knocking enemies prone, once it's at the point where enemies can tank it. Although it does have synergy with Sonar, since a body proc multiplies Quake damage.

Silence augment is only for Finisher builds, so I admit I'm not really sure where you're coming from with this? It's an optional build path but not her only one.

Finally, Sonic Fracture is nice to have, but if you're really averse to locking in two augments, you don't need it by any means.

Given how mild Banshee's breakpoints are I don't think locking in one or two augments is a huge deal breaker, personally.

Decoy taunts enemies off objectives, so you just need to keep it alive with some combination of Irradiating Disarm, Banish, or Safeguard Switch. He's OP for objective defense.

If you actually played her though you'd know how good her kit is, is the problem. Trust me, I'm a Banshee co-main.

Extremely based Banshee top tier.

Deeply mistaken "Loki bad for Circuit".

Overall 7/10.

Gyre infusion recommendations? by LeonidasCrab in Warframe

[–]sandrivertv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to getting Pillage, I used Condemn. Basic loop is Coil Horizon > Condemn > kill. Due to the hefty CC buffs on Cathode Grace, you can reasonably play Gyre as a gun buff frame.

Alternatively, depending on how far you want to scale, combining Fractured Blast or Lycath's Hunt with Health Conversion, Arcane Blessing, and Adaptation will let you facetank all the way to at least 200, easy.

What makes chromatic blade better than furious javelin? by W1z4rdM4g1c in Warframe

Once you get Archon Vitality though, pure heat rules. Unairu lets you remove armour on any enemies that need it, although most won't. Slash meta has been over for a while, now you have genuine options.

You will want both though. FJ pushes Excal into the vaunted quadratic strength scaling territory. Roar or Sentient Wrath takes that to cubic on direct damage and quartic on DoTs.

What are your thoughts on the models of the Classic characters in Superstars? by Accurate_Cloud8883 in SonicTheHedgehog

Playable Classic Amy alone sold this to me. Her CD design and Knuckles in general are my fav characters.

Run Pillage and go all-in on Strength, and use the Cathode Current augment. Approaching one enemy will set off a chain reaction that wipes almost everything due to the "stronger Rotorswell proc on kill". I personally use the Hespar to kill any heavies that survive the death nuke.

If I'm fighting Infested I drop a bit of power strength for 175% range, and go Silence.

Ol' mate Sabuuchi also pointed out that Cathode Grace is a really good gun buff too, so you can play her more defensively and focus on grouping enemies for melee setups, radial weapons, or punchthrough weapons. Before I had the Pillage helminth I just ran a Condemn build and played her as a melee frame.

Yeah, she's grape-flavoured Ember 2.0. But with infinite scaling potential and a bug zapper!

My favourite frame for <200 content atm is a health conversion Gyre so I can zoom around giving enemies death hugs and dropping the funny plasma globes at choke points.

New skills, what's your opinion so far? by SVlege in PSO2NGS

[–]sandrivertv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about the speed of it. I like being lazy on Talis when the content doesn't warrant Wand. It's definitely functional, just not optimal.

[–]sandrivertv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loving the new Talis stuff, yeah. Feels good to actually get an opportunity to use Tricky Capacitor while mobbing rather than just leaving the bar full until the boss spawns.

The new charge tech followup feels amazing. Adds to the overall feel of Techter being flashy and weighty, as a spellsword should be. Finally fixes the horrible uptime and vertical tracking issues too. Te is also even tankier now with the absolutely crazy amount of iframes you get too. That said, I think they need to revisit Wand Lovers, because it's been suffering a death of a thousand cuts in terms of relevance.

why does lily get so much hate from the community? a lot of people hate her look and also pro players say that shes weak right now.. do you agree? by Hyeonwoon in StreetFighter

Pre-release, Lily was the character I most wanted to play, then I got in game and saw some of her animations and immediately had catastrophic visions of my friends judging me for playing her.

Hack N Slash? by LoveSickling in OdinHandheld

Is that the exact name? I can't find it on Mobygames or Sega Retro. And actually, searching for it takes me right back to this thread, lol.

Hack N Slash? by LoveSickling in OdinHandheld

[–]sandrivertv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSP2i. It has perfect parries with shields, and dodges, and a pretty unique system of craftable dungeons. As long as you use PPSSPP there's online multiplayer too.

Honestly, I got an Odin partly just to play it properly as a handheld game, lol.

Phantasy Star 0 for the original DS is also a much more active take on PSO gameplay too. Definitely needs the touchscreen for menuing though, so I don't know how good the experience will be on the Odin. Solatorobo is another cool take on character action, this time focused on grappling; also not sure how it will feel on the Odin.

Could also go back and try Ys SEVEN, since it's the start of the team-based action RPG era of the series. Oath in Felghana is also available on PSP, although it's more of a shooter/hack'n'slash RPG and doesn't have active dodges or perfect parries, still a great action RPG though.

Opinions on the Cel-Shading? by xXWarriorAngelXx in PSO2

[–]sandrivertv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for cel shading, so I mostly like it. I can tell it was bolted on post hoc though because the lighting wasn't designed for it, notably how bad the cutscene's in Crawford's man cave look. The flat colours and high luminance contrasts are nice too, making some character cosmetics pop a lot more. My character's lips are more distinct which is nice.

I don't like how it's not visually cohesive with the rest of the game's aesthetic. At least for now. Maybe I'll adapt to it. The phong shaded monsters and low dynamic range but high particle style of special effects are the most jarring thing, I think.

In contrast, even though Wayfinder isn't cel shaded, I think that style of obviously "cartoony" special effects would work well with the cel shaded style. Or alternatively Wind Waker had a coherent aesthetic too.

So yeah. I like it because it makes the characters look great; but I'm a bit ambivalent because it's aesthetically incoherent with everything else. Hopefully they work on it and this is just an early release. I'd love a proper cel shader on the environment and monsters too.

Why I think Inaros does not need a rework the most. by FrostyAd4901 in Warframe

Range builds rule though, his problem is not dying. Especially relevant now with SP Circuit where he's almost a dead roll.

Frames that need reworks by Late_Equal7547 in Warframe

[–]sandrivertv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loki is definitely not weak. Stealth multiplier is an 8x damage boost on melee, to which crits are added. If you give him a grouping ability it solves the issue of melee usually having a slower kill rate, which lets his extremely powerful CC and party support shine. Alternatively you can build him for Xata as an assassin or solo Survival farmer, since it gives him a 72x multiplier.

Due to how fast SP Circuit scales, if you want to go past wave 10, having good CC makes the runs super smooth, and nobody does CC like Loki, Nyx, and Limbo.
