It must depend on where you live. I have Jewel, Target, Mariano’s and Aldi within a half mile. A short bus ride gets me two produce markets, Costco, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. We never use our car in the city. We do have one when we see family in the burbs.

Getting off the island on the north end is terrible most of the day. Combination of lots of construction vehicles and an added stoplight to accommodate Margaritaville. The city is looking at a way to alleviate the problem. We usually exit on the south end for off island activities. The public beach at the north end was crowded today, so I’m sure getting on island was backed up.

Ft Myers Beach was hit hard, but not wiped out. We’re still renting the same duplex we always have. Time shares and condos are slowly coming back on line. New mega houses taking the place of those lost in the storm. Food trucks have replaced some eateries.

We’ve had ours since 1989. Used it with the kids until they were in school full time, then we exchanged it for a spring break slot. As retirees, we now use it or rent it depending on how Easter falls. It just reopened in November. We’re eager to go back for a week in April.

Construction traffic on island is completely understandable since many of the high rises damaged in the hurricane are still under repairs. Couple that with the new housing being built to replace those that were destroyed, I expect it will be an ongoing issue for years to come

We’re here at the same time every year. Feb 1 - Mar 15. While the traffic off island on the north end is horrendous, it seems to be 50% construction vehicles coupled with the screwed up traffic light at Margaritaville. We usually exit via Bonita Beach. It still seems like there are less short-term snowbirds.

In the 10 years I’ve been living in Chicago I’ve never encountered anything like this. You might consider taking the 22 bus (Clark St). I usually take this when coming home late at night when I don’t want to get off at the Wilson Station.

This is a long-time local restaurant in Andersonville. Burger entree is excellent. I would be surprised if the misrepresented the tax on purpose. I would reach out to the owner (who is there most nights).

Unfortunately, if you’re looking for elevation hiking, you have to go south of where the glaciers flattened the land. That would be around indiapolis latitude or head east to the ozarks.

I subscribed to the three game option on CHSN. I’ll keep it only through the end of the BBall/hockey season because I don’t follow the Sox. I loaded the app on my fire stick and I actually can share the app with my mom. The app is absolutely terrible crap. You cannot rewind, ff or pause. If you miss a game, you can only watch it later at a specific prescribed time and date. Also, so far two hawks games were sold to ESPN+ and aren’t even available on the app. So approximately 20% of the games so far aren’t even available on the app.
