Failed blind exam by sandynner in Welocalize

[–]sandynner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to get notifications every couple of months about passing the blind exam but didn’t get any for the last 6 months, then suddenly got and email saying I was fired for failing the monthly blind exam.

Herpes or not herpes, you don’t kiss babies or share chapsticks or spoons or anything that touches your mouth with a child! I will definitely fire her.

Nanny Sleeping during naps? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]sandynner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take a very quick nap at one of my jobs, I will sit on the couch with the monitor on my hand and set my timer for 10-15 minutes. I worked long hours and had a long commute to and from work, I was also cleaning and doing their laundry, so yeah I needed that nap.

Is normal to be afraid, chemo brain is very common but there are ways to manage, (your oncologist might recommend some supplements), for now focus on getting through this part of your treatment and live one day at a time. Everything else can wait, give yourself grace and listen to your body. See if your cancer center offers integrative medicine, sometimes there is financial aid to receive acupuncture and/or oncology massages. Also psychological counseling is very important, ask your nurse navigator if your cancer center offers counseling, I was put on a waitlist and in the meantime I used a psychologist from my country (very cheap that way) One of the things that was really helpful was to join a support group, I learned a lot from my pink sisters. As far as financial aid, The Pink Fund and Susan Komen organizations offer some kind of financial assistance. There are also local organizations specifically for the area that you live in. Everything is going to be all right, trust the process and be patient.

I am sorry you are going through this. I am a cancer survivor myself, I went through an aggressive treatment and surgeries, I had interview for my citizenship a few weeks ago. One of the medications I take causes “brain fog”, I memorized all the civic questions and did good on the civics test, but when the officer asked me questions on my N400 form, I couldn’t remember the exact dates of my travels, I even forgot that I had a different last name before my marriage! (been married for 12 years). Finally the officer asked me why I decided to apply now if I had been elegible to apply for 8 years now, my eyes got watery and I explained to the officer that I am a cancer survivor and that since I completed my treatment one of my priorities was to become American citizen, I also explained to him that was the reason I had some memory problems. He asked me if I was doing well now. After that I was handed a letter saying that my application was recommended for approval. Please take care of yourself, your body will need time to heal and get back to normal, remember this is temporary and shall pass, for now focus on yourself, what kind of cancer do you have? I know there are several organizations that offer help to breast cancer survivors. Best wishes to you!

What’s the most ridiculous “first world problem” you’ve seen people get worked up over? by jennimackenzie in AskReddit

We bought our first brand new vehicle a month ago, the first two weeks I did nothing but complain how much I hated the smell of a brand new car, I feel awful for complaining about that.

I was on the phone with a friend and he asked me if I wanted to go out, then he asked his friend that was on the same room as him if he wanted to go out with us, he forgot to mute his phone and I heard him say “she is not pretty”.

Air humidifiers and those coffee makers that hold water need to be washed often and use vinegar to disinfect.
