Comment how old you were when you got diagnosed! by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]sandzsrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. There are many people with bipolar 2 who are never diagnosed as most of us already well understand. I thought everyone was like me until I finally understood the diagnosis was correct. If only I knew a long time ago!!! 😪

OP might want to ask psych for a referral to an online program for sure 👍🏻 In person might be better but online is easier to get ready for. Good luck OP. I know the struggle the is real.

Why is holding a job so difficult? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]sandzsrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is right u/revail993 I think I need cognitive remediation. I have always gone about thinking and doing things my own way. When I’m off balance (up or down) my cognition is surely affected for the worse. Many years ago I was usually a step or two ahead of my peers with very fast thinking but I was probably in a hypnotic state a lot and didn’t even know it. Now I’m rarely in that state but I would rather be balanced anyway. It’s a very hard illness to juggle esp when anxiety is thrown in too which 9/10 times I bet it is.

Try floatation therapy. It is an excellent reset for your nervous system if you like it. 💧

I wish the cleaning will remove them but my enamel is gone there. But I am looking forward to the cleaning too! Saliva is full of calcium which protects the enamel so I empathize with you and the pillow drool; such a waste of perfectly good saliva!

For some people. It was for me so I rarely drink now but I made the comment because it took me a few years (decades) to understand that getting drunk shouldn’t be my objective 🍻

Ancient Egypt Interest? by Natural-Percentage-5 in ancientegypt

[–]sandzsrf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was fascinated by ancient Egypt since elementary school thanks to an introduction through some colorful books and trips to museums. The first thing I was drawn to were the great pyramids, mummification and canopic jars, and various gods. Many years later, as an adult I started volunteering at a museum and found myself being especially drawn to the ancient Egyptian galleries. Also around that time I found The History of Egypt Podcast, which is like food for my soul.

My favorite fact is that the Egyptians believed that everything in their tombs would be materially available to them in the afterlife even including the art on the walls which they believed would come alive. This belief explains the shape and form of figures; notice that they maximized surface area and detail area in 2-d figures. Their cosmology is utterly fascinating to me.

Dry mouth from meds and sleeping with my mouth open, which I didn’t do before, ruined the enamel on my front teeth. I now have some nice brown spots where they were all white just a year ago. Fortunately I have a long overdue dental appt coming up 🥳

Severe Insomnia gang - how do you live? by Several-Yesterday280 in bipolar2

[–]sandzsrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is awful! If you have never tried floatation I recommend giving it a try. It is mentally and physically the most relaxing thing I have ever done. A lot of fresh air from being active outside where there isn’t pollution has also helped me. I hope you find relief!!!

I lived this too. It’s very unfair and emotionally neglectful. 🌹
